Shyler

Not sure if that is the right spelling, but I met a little Shyler the other day, (Like [name]Skylar[/name], but with Shy) what does everyone think? It was a first for me.

Sorry, I really don’t like it. It’s like [name]Skylar[/name] but with Shy there… why? I guess some people pronounce Chyler that way.

I wouldn’t use it, but wow, it has such a pretty sound!

Haha don’t apologize to me! She’s not my daughter! I’ve never seen Chyler before either!

I like [name]Skyler[/name]/[name]Skylar[/name] better. The nn or short version Shy; is kind of mean. Sorry/

It’s a really pretty sound, but I sort of balk at the word shy in there too. I’d be afraid it’d be self-fulfilling… and she’d always be shy and self-conscious of that. Interesting though!

Editing to say that I realized that I’m ok with Shiloh and Cheyanne-- other “shy” names-- I think it’s because “shy” isn’t as obvious in the spellings. So maybe if one were to spell it Cheylar it wouldn’t be so bad? Although I do despise funky spellings… what a conundrum

It kind of sounds like a drunk person trying to say [name]Skyler[/name].

I’m really not a fan. Sounds a bit too “made up”/tryndee for my liking. I definitely prefer [name]Skylar[/name]. ([name]Skyler[/name] even doesn’t look right to me.)

A distant cousin of mine named her baby girl Sheayla, and this reminds me of the same naming vein.

(Honestly, Sheayla [name]Neveah[/name]… :???: )

I don’t really like Shyler, I like just Shy though.
