Sib-Set ideas for Gideon or Ezra

I’ve really gotten hooked on a couple of names lately. I’m wondering about sib-set ideas for them.
The names are:
[name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name]
What are some sib names (boy or girl) that would go with them?
Thanks in advance!

I love [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Gideon[/name]! If it were just [name]Gideon[/name] or just [name]Ezra[/name], I could see either of them paired with a non-Biblical or non-Hebrew name, but together, I can really picture them with another Biblical or Hebrew name.

[name]Gideon[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], and:

[name]Susannah[/name] (New Testament, though…)

Good luck!

What about [name]Ezra[/name] (boy) and [name]Quincy[/name] (girl)?

We love [name]Quincy[/name], but we have had trouble coming up with a boy name we like as well. I think [name]Quincy[/name] is kind of quirky and I think [name]Ezra[/name] kind of quirky too because of the ‘z’ in it. Thoughts?

I agree that [name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name] together are very Biblical, so I probably wouldn’t want to do them together because if I had a girl, I would have trouble coming up with a Biblical name I like for her. We really like some different Biblical names for boys but I just don’t like girl choices for the Biblical ones.

Oh! Okay…Sorry about that! I thought that [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Gideon[/name] would be brothers…

[name]Non[/name]-Biblical names I can see with [name]Ezra[/name] or [name]Gideon[/name]:

[name]Aurelia[/name] (more with [name]Gideon[/name] than [name]Ezra[/name]…)
[name]Cora[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Eliza[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Eleanora[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Flora[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Lydia[/name] (with [name]Ezra[/name])
[name]Phoebe[/name] (I forgot it’s Biblical, too…)
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name] or [name]Poppy[/name])
[name]Rose[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Tess[/name] (with [name]Gideon[/name])
[name]Tabitha[/name] (See [name]Phoebe[/name])

I can see [name]Quincy[/name] with other surnames like [name]Bellamy[/name], [name]Blakely[/name], [name]Arden[/name], [name]Carlin[/name], [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Hollis[/name], etc., on girls, and with brothers named something like [name]Archer[/name], [name]Bennett[/name], [name]Donovan[/name], [name]Grant[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], etc., but I can’t personally see it with a name like [name]Ezra[/name]. (Not that it couldn’t work, of course…I just picture [name]Ezra[/name] with either another Biblical name or a vintage name.)

Good luck!

I agree with [name]Jill[/name] that if you would consider using both [name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name], a non-Biblical name would stick out.
Actually to be honest, both [name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name] are such strong and distinct Biblical names that I have a hard time thinking of them with modern names like [name]Quincy[/name].

[name]Just[/name] in case any catch your fancy, here are some Biblical girl names that I think translate well to today (I tried to weed out most of the negative characters):

[name]Chloe[/name] (obviously very popular right now)
[name]Naomi[/name] or [name]Noemi[/name] (variation of [name]Naomi[/name])
[name]Noa[/name] (yup, there is actually a female [name]Noa[/name] in the Bible)

As for boys, I know it’s also Biblical, but I love the name [name]Silas[/name]-- especially with [name]Gideon[/name] or [name]Ezra[/name]!

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your insights girls! I’m having a hard time because I love [name]Ezra[/name] AND [name]Quincy[/name] both so much! It seems I’m going to have to pick one or the other and then pick a name that corresponds with it. Ugh! What about doing [name]Quincy[/name] with a mn that is Biblical or vintage sounding? Probably still doesn’t work, huh?

If you love [name]Quincy[/name] and you don’t mind that it’s a different style from [name]Ezra[/name], you should totally use it! Yes, I’m a name nerd, but I also think that if you love a name, that’s what’s most important!

Good luck!
