Our 5th baby is just a peanut, but based on our other kids, I need all the help I can get! My husband doesn’t give me very many name suggestions, he just vetoes (most of) mine!
([name_u]Baby[/name_u]'s too small to know gender at this point.)
Sibs are:
[name_u]Jadyn[/name_u] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_m]Garett[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
With the exception of [name_u]Jadyn[/name_u], the MNs are family names. Our last name ends in ski, so I’d rather avoid names with that sound. Also, husband doesn’t want any more with the “yn” ending. I’d like to do another one syllable FN, like [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], perhaps a nature name, but husband’s not convinced.
I love [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u], also [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Rain[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. Thanks for the suggestions!
I forgot to mention that we’re not using the same first letter, so B, E, G & J names are out of the running!
Our housing development is called [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] [name_u]Montana[/name_u], and I thought [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] would be a cool MN, but husband thinks it’s cheesy to name after where we live. Thoughts?
[name_m]Alas[/name_m], as soon as I suggested it tonight, husband said, “You mean like the minivan [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]? We’re not naming our baby after vehicles.”
Here I thought moms were more picky… Thanks for suggestions!
Thanks, @evansma and @trysaratops! [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is actually my dad’s name, and we already have [name_m]Garett[/name_m], so we’re avoiding E,B,J and G names, since we have those already! I do love [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Rain[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is cool, but I’m afraid with the o sound in our last name it’s too many vowels. I know, I’m picky! Maybe I’ll get lucky and have a baby right on 2/14, so name it [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
Congrats on another baby!
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]- 1 syllable nature name (works for both genders)
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]- Nature name with the one syllable nn option [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]- Works for both genders
As suspected, this is one tough job! Husband shot down all suggestions from you wonderful people. So, I’m trying a different strategy! I’m choosing less “creative” names such as:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexa[/name_f]
[name_f]Kenna[/name_f]
Rules still apply: No J, B, E or G beginning, must not end in yn sounds or ett sounds, has to sound good with long LN ending in “ski” sound.
I’d rather avoid names in top 50 popularity if possible too.
So we’ve finally agreed on [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] for a girl, but we’re still at an impasse for a boy! MN will be [name_u]James[/name_u], a family name. Husband likes [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], but I’m not loving it, especially since the ending sounds so similar to [name_u]Jadyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I can’t wait for the ultrasound next month to see if we actually need to pick a boy name!
