We are expecting baby #3 this spring. We are not finding out the sex. Our daughter’s name is [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Our son’s name is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. He goes by [name_m]Tommy[/name_m].
Middle name for a girl will likely be [name_f]Julia[/name_f] (family name)
Middle name for a boy will either be [name_m]Robert[/name_m] or [name_m]Frank[/name_m] (family names). Last name starts with an M and rhymes with “tire”
For some reason I have a desire to give this baby a name with some spunk. So, I am willing to veer slightly from the traditional names we have chosen in the past.
Here is our list so far:
Girls -
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (this is my favorite)
Matillda
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] (too similar to [name_f]Alice[/name_f]?)
Boys -
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
I am struggling with boy names and can’t say I love any on our list so far.
Your favorites? What else should we consider?
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] are lovely. From your lists, I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and would flow well with your surname. I love all of the girls names with the exception of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but I don’t know if they are ideal with the mn [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or your last name. With an “M” surname, you would have alliteration for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] have strong “eye” sounds like your surname. Here are some suggestions.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and sister…
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] (better with your surname than mn)
[name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and brother…
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] (this could be used to honour as well)
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
Have you considered using [name_f]Julia[/name_f] for a first name? I think it sounds lovely with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]. Of the names you listed I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m].
Some other suggestions, that I find a little spunky but also classic like your other children’s names:
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Francine[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
My favorites from your list are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. The others I like, but not as much with the other names.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
For boys
I like [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_m]William[/name_m] is very popular.
I second [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_u]Seth[/name_u] and [name_m]Harvey[/name_m].
