[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I am having a hard time deciding on potential baby names! My son is named [name_m]Cael[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m].
For a boy we have agreed on [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] (possible [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]). My issue is does it matter if you use the short a sound or the long “a” in [name_m]Tanner[/name_m]? I never knew anyone with the name, so I am not sure if I am pronouncing it correctly lol! I am from NY and automatically use the short a, [name_m]Tan[/name_m]-ner. I now live in PA and realize everyone else will probably pronounce it Ta-nner.
For a girl I really like [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. Is it okay to name my kids [name_m]Cael[/name_m] (“kale”) and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]??? [name_m]Cael[/name_m] really wasn’t meant to be named after a food. I didn’t really think if it like that and it is not spelt the same. I just don’t want them to sound like a salad lol. We also like [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], middle name would be [name_f]Dawn[/name_f].
Congrats! [name_m]Cael[/name_m] is a very cool name. [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is handsome. I have never heard [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] pronounced any other way than to rhyme with manner. Def. not a long A (tay-ner). I think you’ll be ok.
Hmm I’m undecided about [name_m]Cael[/name_m] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. On paper they look great and are super cute together, but the food connection is not exactly subtle. You may get some comments/jokes. Of course if you love the name you shouldn’t care what other ppl think necessarily. I was also going to suggest [name_f]Liv[/name_f]. i prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] to [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], but [name_m]Cael[/name_m] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] are sweet together too.
