My DH and I are just starting ttc for #3, I’m already so excited to think about names! We have 2 girls, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (goes by [name_f]Elli[/name_f]) and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f] for another girl but I’m not sure if it’s too similar to [name_f]Elli[/name_f], thoughts?
As for boy names I haven’t come up with anything I’m in love with…we have spent a lot more time talking about girl names with the last two pregnancies so I just haven’t thought about boy names as mich I guess.
We both like more classic, traditional names. Thanks in advance, can’t wait to see any suggestions!
As soon as I saw [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I wanted to add [name_m]Edward[/name_m] to have a perfect [name_m]Tudor[/name_m] theme, but I had to take a minute to meditate and realize this isn’t an ideal association.
Other timeless and non-tragically insane ideas could be: [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] or [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
For girls maybe [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f] would be to your liking.
With [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f], I would choose something fittingly classic or Biblical.
However, all the names that come to mind make a theme…e.g. [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]) would make a set of [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] sisters (Pride & Prejudice). [name_f]Anne[/name_f] would complete the three [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] sisters (Persuasion). And [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] would make three British queens. None of those are bad things at all, but idk if that would bother you.
What about [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and…
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] / [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
I knew I would get some good suggestions here! I really like [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and katherine were on our list last time and I still love them. What about [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]? [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]? [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are both family names so I would kinda like to use another family name, my grandmother is [name_f]Edith[/name_f] (goes by [name_f]Edie[/name_f]) and I’ve always loved it.
I think that [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is a bit too bold to go with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f], which are both fairly serene, not to mention Biblical. [name_u]Edi[/name_u] and [name_f]Elli[/name_f] are very close, besides. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be beautiful.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Elinor[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
First names that came to mind were:

It sounds like you really love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Elli[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] are a bit close. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is the name of a queen from long ago, so in that sense it fits with with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. But [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are classic names that have been consistently given to girls generation after generation, while [name_f]Edith[/name_f] fell out of favor a few generations ago and hasn’t quite made the comeback some other vintage names have. I personally like [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and I think that [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is adorable; my biggest concern is that it’s very similar to [name_f]Elli[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is another one I’d considered adding to my list for you yesterday, and it’s also a queen’s name. It’s the name were probably going to give our new baby, calling her [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Our [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is called [name_f]Libby[/name_f]. We know we’ll have to steer both of our “[name_f]El[/name_f]” girls away from wanting to go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and we’re OK with that. Since you call your [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Elli[/name_f], I think you’d definitely have to call your [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (or maybe [name_f]Leni[/name_f]) and she’d have to stick to that nickname.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is another name I’d add to my list of suggestions for you.
Sounds like you have some interest in [name_f]Louise[/name_f] - I think it’s a great fit for your sibset, and [name_f]Elli[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is very cute!
Sbw, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] was on the list last time but I felt it was too close to elli. My husband loved [name_f]Nora[/name_f] though, maybe now that we have a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] in the mix it might not bother me as much.
DH is really into [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] for a girl and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] for a boy bc he loves the nickname [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u]/[name_u]Vinny[/name_u]. I’m not sure about [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] but I do like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. If we were to use it though I’m not really sure about using [name_f]Edith[/name_f] as a mn…it seems to clunky, but I guess edith just is clunky. Would it be odd to habe 2 children named after a family member and a third with no connection to family names?
