I really love the name [name]Eva[/name].

[name]Jacob[/name]: Like you said, it’s very popular (#1 in the U.S. for seemingly ever), but I do think it’s a handsome name.
[name]Asher[/name]: I can definitely see [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] as siblings.
[name]Eli[/name]: With the repetitive E beginnings, I’d personally go with a different name…
[name]Matthias[/name]: I think this is handsome, too, but there’s the nephew issue.

What about:

[name]Abraham[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]David[/name]
[name]Elias[/name] (has more of an “el” beginning, as opposed to a long e like [name]Eva[/name])
[name]Gideon[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Josiah[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Zachariah[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name]

[name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]

[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name] (a bit similar to [name]Eva[/name], though)

[name]Zoe[/name]: I think it works with [name]Eva[/name], but I also think it changes [name]Eva[/name]'s feel from exotic/European to more modern.

[name]Zara[/name]: I think this is beautiful, too, and empasizes [name]Eva[/name]'s exotic international feel.

[name]Anna[/name]: Very pretty…

[name]Johanna[/name]: It’s not your cup of tea, and that’s what matters!

[name]Leah[/name]: I prefer some of your other choices due to the long e sound (like [name]Eva[/name]), but I do think it’s pretty.

[name]Naomi[/name]: I think this is great with [name]Eva[/name]!

Good luck!

My friends son is [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Luke[/name] and I think he has one of the best names I’ve ever heard.
I also like the name switched to [name]Luke[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name]. [name]Lucas[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name] and [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Lucas[/name] are nice too.
A biblical name that I’m in love with is [name]Ezekiel[/name], you could nn [name]Zeke[/name] and I bet you could get away with the nn [name]Eli[/name] as well.

Lets see if can think of more-

[name]Michaiah[/name] or [name]Micaiah[/name]
[name]Matteo[/name] - a varation of [name]Matthias[/name].

Girls -

I love [name]Jill[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Lydia[/name]. [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] look great together

[name]Adalia[/name] - a mans name in the but feels more girl to me.
[name]Adina[/name] - ditto
[name]Priscilla[/name]
[name]Bethany[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Noa[/name] - a girls name.
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Rhoda[/name] -means “rose”
[name]Tarah[/name] - place name.

Thanks posters.

We are pretty happy with our list of boys names (though [name]Luke[/name] and variations would be up there on the list of my all time favourites, it’s a no-go). We’ve scoured the Bible and these really are our favourites (plus a few more that we’ve got for middle names). We’d be happy using any of them.

As for the girls… [name]Lydia[/name]… I might add that one. Seems more appealing now. And will think on [name]Adalia[/name] and [name]Adina[/name].
As for biblically based girls names, we are being a bit liberal simply because we feel there is a lack of good or untaken biblical girls names.

[name]Zoe[/name] is greek for eternal life
[name]Zara[/name] - we’re taking it as a variation of [name]Sarah[/name]

I think [name]Zara[/name] is cool with [name]Eva[/name], I also really like [name]Zora[/name]

[name]Zora[/name] also reminded me of [name]Nora/name which is greek like [name]Zoe[/name] and also I think [name]Pheobe[/name] and maybe [name]Petra[/name] would be cute with [name]Eva[/name]

I like [name]Jacob[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]

I also like [name]Christopher[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
and
[name]Christian[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Jonathan[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
[name]James[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Paul[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Jude[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Phillip[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]

I love [name]Anya[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] They go perfect with [name]Eva[/name] and I’ve always loved those names

From your girls names I like the combo of naomi leah! I like the name noa for a girl as well. For a boy I [name]LOVE[/name] asher. Good luck.

I’m really liking [name]Asher[/name] [name]Matthias[/name] at the moment ([name]Matthias[/name] is on our first and middle name list). Still not any further forward with girl names.

Liking [name]Asher[/name] [name]Levi[/name] too… hadn’t considered [name]Levi[/name] at all before. I probably like it because it sounds similar to [name]Eli[/name] but [name]Asher[/name] [name]Eli[/name] is quite vowel heavy… or maybe it isn’t so bad…??? What do you think?

Given that our last name begins with O’ is it too many ‘o’ sounds in:
[name]Zoe[/name] O’K…
???

I personally do not think it is too many o’s. I considered naming my daughter [name]Chloe[/name], our last name also starts with O. I thought that if there were more than one [name]Chloe[/name] in her class, she’d be [name]Chloe[/name] O. and I thought it was cute. Same with [name]Zoe[/name] O’K imo.

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Matthias[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] [name]Levi[/name] are gorgeous! I think [name]Asher[/name] goes perfectly with [name]Eva[/name] (I [name]LOVE[/name] your daugher’s name, by the way). Like you, I love [name]Jacob[/name], but the fact it’s so common now is a bit of a downer. Whereas [name]Asher[/name] still sounds very fresh.

From your girls names, I think [name]Zara[/name] goes the best with [name]Eva[/name]. I also really like [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Leah[/name], [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Naomi[/name]. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Eden[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Zara[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Anya[/name]

Thanks posters. I really like my boys names so I’m not really worried about it. I’d be happy choosing either (so will probably come down to what DH likes best).

The girls names are really bugging me though! To be honest I think it is just between [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Zara[/name].
[name]Zoe[/name] O’K is making me a little hesitant though I like [name]Zoe[/name] better than [name]Zara[/name]. DH likes [name]Zara[/name] better.

With girls names I do like [name]Zara[/name] [name]Eden[/name] but apart from that I think I like one syllable middle names (like [name]Eva[/name] [name]Joy[/name] - I love that two-one-four syllable combination).
I like [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Grace[/name] but it does seem a bit unoriginal. I also like [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Paige[/name] even though [name]Paige[/name] isn’t a biblical name. [name]Paige[/name] does some have significance to me though not strong enough to make it a definite choice. I can’t really think of any other biblical one syllable girls names except [name]Faith[/name] which I’m not drawn to.

You could use [name]Hope[/name] for a middle name.

Not that drawn to [name]Hope[/name] either, plus I think it would definitely be too many ‘o’ like vowel sounds!

What do you think of [name]Ruth[/name]?

My little girl’s name is [name]Eva[/name]. Her middle name is [name]Simone[/name].

If I had a boy he’d be [name]Asher[/name].

[name]Eva[/name] means Life in Hebrew and [name]Zoe[/name] means Life in Greek. So they go.

Another one syllable name that might work in the middle is [name]Pearl[/name]. The biblical reference could be the pearl of great price.
