Sibling for Evelyn - Louise or Louisa?

We are due with our second baby girl in [name_f]September[/name_f]. We have narrowed it down to two options - both with the middle name to honour my late grandfather [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]. I love them both but am worried that [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is a “middle name” these days. Of course, I’m definitely open to any other options. Our first daughter’s name is [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Mary[/name_f].

[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] (hubby’s preference)

or

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]/[name_u]Raye[/name_u]

Also our surname is [name_m]Thornton[/name_m]…

Would love your opinions or suggestions! Thank you!

I love both [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and think they are beautiful first names & will fit in with the many vintage names that are being revived & becoming more popular. I like [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] best! My son’s middle name is [name_u]Ray[/name_u] after his late grandfather [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] & [name_f]Louise[/name_f] are perfect together!

I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Raye[/name_u]!

I think that [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]/[name_u]Raye[/name_u] would make a great sister to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I vote [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]!

I love both [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]! And I think [name_u]Ray[/name_u]/[name_u]Raye[/name_u] would work well with both. I’m personally not a fan of the [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] combination.

I like either, but I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is prettier and goes better with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

Thank you so much for your replies!

I’m leaning more towards [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] too.

I like [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] best, and it could go with any of you name combo’s. I like [name_u]Rae[/name_u] more than the other spellings, though you might not think this works as short for [name_m]Raymond[/name_m], so [name_u]Ray[/name_u] would come second. I don’t really like [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] as a second, just because it is so ‘surname or Boys name’, unless you were to go for a two middles option, which is probably not an option if you already have a daughter with only one.

I personally love [name_f]Louise[/name_f], it’s much softer sounding to me which goes perfectly with your daughter [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]'s name.
