Sibling for Everest and Luna?

So we’re planning a 3rd child soon (fingers crossed!). I have a boy named [name_u]Everest[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and a girl named [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Our last name is monosyllabic.

Here are some names I’m currently crushing on:

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]: Could work for either a boy or a girl. Would be a reference to [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] Island, which has significant meaning for us as we are an immigrant family. For me this name symbolizes journeys, dreams and hopes for a better life, and the idea of being a global citizen. I also like that it’s not common but easy to pronounce and spell.

If it’s a boy:
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

If it’s a girl:
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]

[name_f]Rose[/name_f]: If we have another girl, this could fit well with [name_u]Everest[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] because of the nature connection. But I wonder if this name is too overtly feminine to use as a first name? What if the little girl is a tomboy, then I don’t know if the name would suit her?

[name_f]Serena[/name_f]: I like how [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Serena[/name_f] sound together. I get the imagery of a peaceful nighttime scene in a forest with the moon rising over a mountain.

I also like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], and [name_f]Alma[/name_f] (although I don’t know about using a Spanish name when we are not Latin).

Thoughts on the names I’ve listed so far? Any other ideas?

For girls, I think [name_f]Serena[/name_f] sounds really lovely with your other children’s names. So does [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and if she’s a tomboy she could go by [name_f]Ro[/name_f] which seems like a cute but strong nn. Also, I think [name_f]Alma[/name_f] has such a classical sound that it’s definitely an option for a non Latin family.
Some girl first and middle ideas that might fit your style:
[name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]

I love [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] for a boy! My fave from your list is [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Byron[/name_m]

I love Ellis as a unisex name for either gender but with your sibset in getting hung up on its closeness to Everest.

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is my favorite of your boys’ names–I love [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] too! And [name_f]Serena[/name_f] sounds so pretty with [name_u]Everest[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. As for your concerns with the overly feminine sound of [name_f]Rose[/name_f]…I know a little tomboy named [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and the name suits her really well. It doesn’t seem too feminine to me, however if you’re worried about that maybe [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could be a good middle name for you. I also know an [name_f]Alma[/name_f] who isn’t Latin American so I think it could definitely work–it’s a beautiful, classic name that works well with the sibset. I love the name [name_u]Avery[/name_u], too–but it’s my name, so I’m a little biased.

Some suggestions…

Girls~[name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Eris[/name_f], [name_f]Irie[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]

Boys~[name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_u]Lake[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]

Best of luck to you!

I think [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is maybe too close to [name_u]Everest[/name_u] but it would make a great middle name for either a boy or a girl. My favourites on your lists …

[name_u]Theo[/name_u] for a brother and for a girl, [name_f]Serena[/name_f] or [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], although I like [name_f]Audra[/name_f] even more. Suggestions…

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
[name_m]Piers[/name_m]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]

[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]

Thanks everyone! I love the idea of using [name_f]Ro[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] for either gender, I agree that it might be a little too close to [name_u]Everest[/name_u] though. Maybe [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], or Eliason could work for a boy or for a girl, [name_f]Ellisan[/name_f] or Ellisanne could differentiate it a bit more from [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is also great!

Somebody else suggested “[name_f]Ro[/name_f]” as a nn for [name_f]Rose[/name_f], which I think it a great idea! I also like the Irish variations [name_f]Rois[/name_f] and [name_f]Roisin[/name_f].

Some other names:
Girls- [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] (I was surprised this already got suggested), [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], Maevis, [name_f]Esmae[/name_f], [name_f]Eilish[/name_f], [name_f]Eira[/name_f] (or [name_u]Ira[/name_u]), [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]/Lyris (a constellation), Myrina (a location and an [name_f]Amazonian[/name_f] queen in Greek mythology, nn [name_f]Mina[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], or [name_f]Rina[/name_f]), [name_f]Myra[/name_f], [name_f]Meissa[/name_f] (a star in [name_u]Orion[/name_u], alt spelling Maessa), [name_f]Rhea[/name_f]/ Rheia (a moon of [name_m]Saturn[/name_m], Greek mythology, and a type of bird),

Boys- [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Edric[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_u]Rigel[/name_u] (a star in [name_u]Orion[/name_u]), [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_m]Emmerson[/name_m], [name_u]Wallace[/name_u], [name_m]Willis[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Pollux[/name_m], [name_m]Castor[/name_m],

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this gives you some inspiration!

[name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Serena[/name_f] are a match made in heaven! [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] or [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could work for a girl! Then for a boy [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u] name but longer and classier like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]) or [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] or even [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sound awesome!

My number 1 picks would be [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]!

I personally would not pick another name beginning with an E or L.

I like [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and…

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Acadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Noa[/name_f]

[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Phelan[/name_m]
[name_m]Bronson[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Your children’s names are so amazing!

Here’s my opinion about your list:
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]: I adore what it means to you! I like [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But, I don’t think it is a perfect match for [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. Your daughter has a very girly name and [name_u]Everest[/name_u] has such a strong name! But, if you love it, please use it!

[name_f]Rose[/name_f]: [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is an extremely feminine name, so I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] fits perfectly with [name_f]Luna[/name_f] (and [name_u]Everest[/name_u]). I love it!

[name_f]Serena[/name_f]: [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] & [name_f]Serena[/name_f] create a magnificent set! Absolutely perfect! [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] or [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be stunning.

I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] for a boy! At the same time, I think that those names feel much more traditional than [name_u]Everest[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. My two favorites are [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Alma[/name_f] because of its meaning “soul” in spanish and portuguese. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] are nice names too, but I really love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Serena[/name_f] for your baby.
