Sibling for Juno Gabriella

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone. We are expecting our second child and won’t be finding out the gender, but having so much trouble pinning down names! Girls names seem a bit easier as I like a few, boys names are a bit harder.

Our daughter is [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]. If we have another girl, I am toying with the middle name [name_u]Ray[/name_u] but not sold on it.

My options for a girl, I have a “cutesy” list and a “classic/elegant” list  None of these are my FAVORITES but [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] has me most interested at this point, and hubby is on board… [name_m]Just[/name_m] not sure I like the “pee” sound in it… Makes me think of, well, Pee…

More cutesy:
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ([name_f]Poppy[/name_f], posie)
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Khloe[/name_f] (I prefer K, but don’t like the Kardashian connotation…)
[name_f]Summer[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]

More Classic:
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]

Boys are so tough - especially finding one we agree on and goes well with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]…

I know these are overdone, but husband agrees on them and I do actually like the names, despite how common they are:

[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_u]Aden[/name_u]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]

I like these as well, and they are not so common, but hubby is not sold… I particularly like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] but he would take tons of convincing…

[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Deacon[/name_m]
[name_u]Dash[/name_u]

Any other suggestions that fall in line with my tastes? Thanks so much in advance… you guys are the name gurus

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a good option - it feels familiar but distinct, like [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] also feel like good choices!

Some other ideas: [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Zadie[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Lenore[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Lillia[/name_f], [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]/[name_f]Siena[/name_f]

I like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] for a boy!

Some others: [name_u]Keegan[/name_u], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Toby[/name_u]’, [name_u]Reilly[/name_u], [name_m]Nate[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]

Thank you! [name_f]Clara[/name_f]/[name_f]Klara[/name_f] (I prefer Ks), [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and [name_f]Siena[/name_f] have all been on my list in the past but I weeded them out over time. [name_f]May[/name_f] revisit [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as I just love how rich it sounds!

I like many of your boy suggestions as well. I just find male names so tough, none really knock my socks off! I’ve loved [name_u]Noah[/name_u] since a young kid because it’s so soft, but it’s soooo common, too which I don’t love. And [name_m]Archer[/name_m] I think is really cool and matches [name_f]Juno[/name_f] well, but do I love it enough to have to convince hubby night & day that it’s the right choice? [name_m]Ah[/name_m]!

Thank you again  Would love to hear more if anyone has suggestions…

oo I love [name_f]Petra[/name_f]! I don’t see it mentioned very often. I like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too. The only one I don’t like is [name_f]Khloe[/name_f] since I think the traditional spellings are classier.

[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Kiera[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]

[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_u]Lennox[/name_u]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_u]Parker[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]

I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ([name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is adorable!), [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_f]Petra[/name_f] with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]! [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] best with [name_f]Juno[/name_f], for boys.

Good luck!

Hmmm, none of your top boys choices feel as special as [name_f]Juno[/name_f], so I’m really liking [name_m]Archer[/name_m] or [name_u]Dash[/name_u] for you.

As an alternative to [name_u]Noah[/name_u], have you considered [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]?

Instead of [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], maybe [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_m]Oran[/name_m], [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_m]Kellan[/name_m], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_m]Miller[/name_m], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Cian[/name_m]

Some more slightly offbeat choices: [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], [name_m]Koa[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Torin[/name_m], [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], [name_m]Joah[/name_m], [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Zeke[/name_m]’, [name_m]Moses[/name_m], [name_m]Evander[/name_m], [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u]

For girls, I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]’ is lovely, but I think [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] is my favourite - so elegant and distinctive, like [name_f]Juno[/name_f], but with some adorable nickname options (Sephy!)

I’ll throw out some other suggestions:

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Alba[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_u]Penna[/name_u]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Bea[/name_f]’
[name_f]Suria[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_u]Romy[/name_u] (standalone or as a nickname for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] etc)

The classic / longer girls names you have listed could make good middle names in the style of [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], perhaps to offset a more short and spunky first

I really like [name_f]Petra[/name_f] and the suggestion of [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]. Very cool!

Since you like [name_u]Noah[/name_u], maybe [name_u]Micah[/name_u]? It feels similarly gentle but strong too me. I’ve never met a [name_u]Micah[/name_u] I didn’t like. And I second the poster who said [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] fit best with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]! They have the same energetic flair.

Other calm boys’ names: [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_u]Kieran[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_m]Soren[/name_m]

For girls, I think [name_f]Petra[/name_f] would be absolutely perfect with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]—it doesn’t feel cutesy at all to me; they’re both powerful but feminine names. I’d be hesitant to use a few of your more popular choices when [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is so distinctive.

A few more ideas: [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Nella[/name_f], [name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f]

In keeping with [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], what about a short spunky first name and longer more traditional middle?

From your options perhaps:
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

Some other options:
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Vida[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]

I like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] with [name_f]Juno[/name_f].

Similar to that perhaps:
[name_m]Abram[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]

If you’re going to go with the middle name [name_u]Ray[/name_u], I would make it more feminine by spelling it [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. That being said, I do think you should stick with a shorter first and longer middle like your other child has!

My top pick is [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] because it shares the spunkiness of [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and the elegance of Grabriella.

None of your girls’ options give quite the same combo of uniqueness and spunkiness that I get from [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. My favorites would be [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would go great next to [name_f]Juno[/name_f]! I think most of your agreed on boys’ picks are the same, fairly popular and normal next to [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. Though I do really like [name_m]Archer[/name_m], if you are up to convincing your hubby!

Other suggestions:
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Lux[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
[name_m]Maddox[/name_m]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Titus[/name_m]

You guys are awesome. Thank you so, so much. Rethinking my lists thanks to your new options for me (many of which I had previously considered but removed from my list because DH said no, hands down) and your input on my current names. Having something unique to match [name_f]Juno[/name_f] was so important to me at one time, but now that she’s over 2 and I’m super used to her name, I feel like it’s just as “normal” sounding as a name like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], lol.

That said I think, with the girls’ names, there are so many lovely ones to choose from and hubby agrees on all…With boys, he’s way pickier and hates anything REMOTELY “out there” which I find annoying, because [name_f]Juno[/name_f] was his choice for our first!

So I think I’m going to just pick my favorite boys’ name, even if it’s “out there” and then take it from there and work on convincing him…

As an aside, what do you all think of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]? I saw that name on another thread and love the “may” connotation since it matches with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]/[name_u]June[/name_u].

I really like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]! The sounds compliment each other well, though [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] seems a bit more vintage compared to [name_f]Juno[/name_f], but not terribly so. Both are short and quirky. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be nice.

Other middles for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]:
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] (Gorgeous!)
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Antonia[/name_f]

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]/[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] sounds like perfect sisters!

(PS I do think [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]/[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sounds lovely too)

Yeah [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is growing on me - especially since I can use [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a nickname  And it falls in line with other old fashioned names I like, like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]… Girls names are so fun, honestly I could come up with a bunch that I would love. I need to figure out which have more meaning to me in terms of honoring family members or our cultural backgrounds.

Boys though…[name_m]Ah[/name_m]!!! Any thoughts on [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]?

[name_f]Avis[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] are my top choices with [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] is okay, but I don’t feel like it goes with [name_f]Juno[/name_f] very well. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] works with [name_f]Juno[/name_f], although I like [name_f]Moira[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], or [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] better.

[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m]

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] is such a great name that I rarely hear. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a great name BUT it’s not my fave w a sister [name_f]Juno[/name_f] it seems too popular. What about [name_f]Delta[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
I really like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] as a brother to [name_f]Juno[/name_f] what about [name_u]Mars[/name_u], [name_m]Frey[/name_m] or [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]?

What about [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]? My name is [name_f]Meryl[/name_f] and my sisters name is [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] she has always disliked that her name was so common while I was the only [name_f]Meryl[/name_f] at any school we were at. [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is a unique out there name for most of the usa (even in the big west coast hipster city I live in I only know 1) so from my experience I would say it’s important to give a sibling an equally unique name. But also one you love. My husband likes most girls name but is so so picky about boys like yours.

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is an awesome son set, and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is lovely. I really dislike alternative spellings, for full disclosure, but more to the point Khloé and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] seem mismatched. I think spunky vintage when I hear [name_f]Juno[/name_f], so [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] totally makes sense.

What about [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], [name_m]Xander[/name_m], or [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] for a boy? They are a little more “normal” but still have the zippy/spunky vibe like [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] is OK but doesn’t have the cool ancient feel of [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is OK too but I personally prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] since it is more mythological feeling like [name_f]Juno[/name_f], whereas [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is super vintage to me. I do think the [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_u]June[/name_u] thing is cute.
