Sibling for Maple

So I have just started thinking about another baby - which is just unbelievable as it feels like I was just on here discussing [name]Maple[/name]! Can’t believe it’s been 13 months. I know this is premature as I am not pregnant, but I don’t want to be in the hospital for 3 days with a nameless baby this time around. I made a list of boys and girls names and would love any opinions and additions.

I like names like [name]Maple[/name] - unusual, but not made up or hard to pronounce and I seem to lean towards nature names.

I have some major family names on the list - [name]Gray[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], and [name]Harrison[/name]. [name]Henry[/name] is my husband’s name, although he goes by [name]Hal[/name]. I like [name]Gray[/name] in the middle spot as it goes with [name]Violet[/name] ([name]Maple[/name]'s middle name), but I don’t want people to think it’s after [name]Christian[/name] [name]Gray[/name]!

Girls: [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Clover[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Florence[/name], [name]Iris[/name]. (no particular order)

Boys: [name]Henry[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Rex[/name], [name]Carson[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Harrison[/name]. I kind of like [name]Denver[/name] because I grew up in [name]Colorado[/name], but maybe it’s too strange.

Thank you!

[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Gray[/name] would get my vote! I’m biased as my little girl is [name]Pearl[/name].

I only really want to comment on the fact your little girl’s name is just absolutely gorgeous! I once had a dream I named my little girl [name]Maple[/name] and I’ve loved it ever since.

My favourites for her sister are [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Iris[/name]. The only ones I might avoid, personally, would be [name]Clover[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name]. I just think they’re too similar to [name]Maple[/name] in an obscure-nature-name kind of way. It’s not necessarily a bad thing just a bit too theme-y for my liking.

For boys, I love [name]Henry[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Denver[/name]. I do also love the idea of [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Maple[/name] because they’re just such contrasting styles but sound so good with each other.

Ones which spring to mind reading your list…

I think [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], and [name]Iris[/name] go best. I like the suggestion of [name]Wren[/name] too.

I’d add:

[name]Penelope[/name] & [name]Clover[/name] get my vote. I would imagine [name]Maple[/name] could be mistaken for [name]Mabel[/name] sometimes? The pop of [name]Penelope[/name] & the quirk of [name]Clover[/name] make [name]Maple[/name] stand out as [name]Maple[/name] when I say them. Somehow [name]Iris[/name] & [name]Hazel[/name] & [name]Pearl[/name] make me think [name]Mabel[/name]?

For boys I don’t think you have to worry as much. It all works.
[name]Henry[/name] is great. [name]Denver[/name] is kinda neat.

I think the 50 shades thing is a flash in the pan. I am sure if any movie gets made it will flop & all of the spoofs are so plentiful I don’t think any remnants of jokes about it will stand the test of time. [name]Just[/name] don’t use [name]Chris[/name]- anything or the girl’s name with it!

I adore [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Gray[/name]! I think it flows the best with the middle name. Also, it has a subtle nature feel to it. As for boys I like [name]Henry[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], and [name]Denver[/name]. I don’t think [name]Denver[/name] is weird at all! It’s a name people are familiar with but it’s never heard!

So…now I am pregnant again! Really need help with boy names as that’s what I feel most blank with if anyone has anymore suggestions!

You might like:
[name]Cyrus[/name], [name]Cy[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name], [name]Sid[/name]

I am loving [name]Maple[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] from lori johnson’s list I think they both have the same vibe going for them. I like [name]Maple[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] too.

All your names are gorgeous!!! Top picks with [name]Maple[/name]:
[name]Pearl[/name] (wow!!!)
[name]Clover[/name] (a bit cutesy with [name]Maple[/name] but I like it

I love [name]Florence[/name], [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Daisy[/name] too!

My suggestions are:
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Clover[/name] [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Grey[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Florence[/name]

[name]Henry[/name] [name]Colorado[/name]
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Carson[/name]
[name]Harrison[/name] [name]Riley[/name]

Before I even read your considering names I was thinking of [name]Hazel[/name] or [name]Clover[/name]
Maybe spell it like [name]Grey[/name]? I think it looks prettier with an e, yet your still honouring your family name because it sounds exactly the same!
I like the name [name]Penny[/name] too, which is sort of like [name]Penelope[/name].

Names like [name]Clover[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Ruby[/name] feel like obvious companions to [name]Maple[/name].

For boys, I like [name]Riley[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], and [name]Henry[/name]. And [name]Denver[/name] is one of the few place names that doesn’t grate on me (I like [name]Dallas[/name] as well).

I second someone’s [name]Harrison[/name] [name]Riley[/name] suggestion. I also like [name]Henry[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]Gray[/name].
[name]Riley[/name] [name]Carson[/name]
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Henry[/name]
I was going to suggest the [name]Rex[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] combination, and then I realized that felt “right” because I was thinking of the actor.

For girls, in addition to the ones above, I like [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Florence[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name]. [name]Pearl[/name] feels like it would make a great middle name combination with one of those. And I love [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Gray[/name].

And you’ve received some other fantastic suggestions:

  • [name]Gray[/name] works so well as a middle name for a lot of these, especially [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], and most of the boys’ names ([name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Gray[/name] poses a color conflict problem).

I’d also add [name]Winter[/name]. [name]Winter[/name] [name]Penelope[/name].

[name]Willow[/name]'s lovely, but you said you were looking for unusual, so that won’t work; [name]Aspen[/name] would probably be too trendy for you too…but if [name]Riley[/name]'s popularity hasn’t dulled its charm for you, then maybe one of these could still hold appeal.

[name]Forrest[/name]/[name]Forest[/name] (too nature-y?)

[name]Maple[/name] is a very beautiful nature name choice! Here are some nice sibling choices:

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Clover[/name]

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]

[name]Florence[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]

Some of my other favorites that may go along with your choices:

[name]Laurel[/name], [name]Azalea[/name], [name]Timothea[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name]
