I’m due with [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 in [name_u]December[/name_u], and I feel like we’re not as in love with any of the names on our list like we were for our daughter, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u].
We’re keeping the gender a surprise, so we’re looking at names for both. Both of our families are quite large and a lot of the traditional/common names are taken by aunts, uncles and cousins (think [name_u]Timothy[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], etc).
We both gravitate towards a little less common and are really struggling in the boy name department particularly.
Eleanor-I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It’s one of my very favorites. It’s classic, smart, bold, feminine, a little adventurous & just beautiful. Plus, the nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]! [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] would be adorable. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is unfortunately pretty popular though. [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] really isn’t, I don’t think.
Marceline-I don’t know. It’s not my cup of tea. Sounds a little bit snobby to me, honestly. And kind of close to [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
Clementine- I love this name. It’s just so spunky, charming & lovable. It’s well known but fairly unique. Really pretty cute w/Margot, actually.
Clara-A lovely smart simple classic. I wouldn’t call it totally unique, but it’s not top ten in popularity or anything.

I think probably [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is also really cute. If you go with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], you should probably use [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] instead of [name_u]Theo[/name_u] so it doesn’t sound too matchy ([name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] both end in “o”).

Margot picked her name out of our original top 3 in the hospital (using jazz hands at a few hours old; its an excellent story) so I’m sure something equally perfect will stick this time around too.
