Sibling for Noah and Elijah - Help!

We are expecting and I currently have two boys Noah James and Elijah Jameson. It wasn’t purposely biblical but here we are.

Looking for girl names that compliment these. All of my favorites I’ve had for girls I feel like don’t mesh well with the other two names. Maybe I’m overthinking :woman_shrugging:

Girl names from my list:

  • Charlotte (Charli?)
  • Rose
  • Rowan
  • Reese (This was our pick from last pregnancy for a girl but, Noah, Elijah, Reese I’m not loving)
  • Iris
  • Emilia
  • Ophelia
  • Edited to add that I am looking for suggestions :slightly_smiling_face:

N0ah + Elij@h are gorgeous names :herb:

Looking at your list I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] + [name_f]Iris[/name_f] so much they are favourites of mine. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is one of my absolute favourite girls name she’s romantic, elegant, has gorgeous floral connotations and I think sounds pretty with your boys. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is another name I love and was a strong contender when it came to naming my daughter. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is lovely she’s sweet, pretty and has pretty cottagecore imagery attached. I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is magic with your boys as well very complimentary.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

From your list I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Iris[/name_f] best with with sons names, both flow nicely & are just as timeless.

Are you looking for suggestions?

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] seem like they would work really nicely with brothers’ names! Plus, they’re just beautiful.

I agree that there’s SOMETHING about the modern unisex vibe that just feels really incongruous with the boys’ Biblical names, though I can’t put my finger on what it is, exactly. But maybe there are some that work? I’ll try to find some suggestions in that vein that don’t sound too abruptly different, along with some other lovely classics that mesh well.

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Blair[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Haddie[/name_f]
[name_f]Hadley[/name_f]
[name_f]Hanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Juniper[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
Margo/Margot
[name_f]Roseanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

But when all is said and done, please remember that it’s really common to have different styles for boy names and girl names. If the surname feel of [name_f]Reese[/name_f] is your favorite name (it’s a great name, by the way), then it will be the right thing for your family. Always use the name you love.

your boys have beautiful names

my favourites from your list are [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f], they both compliment the boy’s names beautifully but equally stand out x

If you like [name_f]Iris[/name_f], you might like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] or [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] - I think these both go nicely with your boy’s names as well.

[name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] are solid and versatile - and current favourites - which does mean they go with a lot of options!

Of your list, I really like these:

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] → classic and elegant but still full of energy

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] → sweet and sophisticated

[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] → unexpected but feels contemporary and gentle and lovely - it works for me

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] → sweet but lively!

I quite like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Reese[/name_f] too

If I were to suggest some:

[name_f]Ruby[/name_f]
[name_f]Romy[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Harley[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Hadley[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Wren[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] work very well alongside [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a lovely name but may be too close to [name_m]Noah[/name_m] in sound? [name_m]Just[/name_m] pointing that out but it may not be an issue for you. Is there one that sounds better with your last name?

I notice the boys’ names and most of the girl contenders have long vowel sounds. Maybe understanding that about your preferences can help you choose.

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] as a sister to your boys, because they’re all current top 10 names and that ties them together, even though [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is stylistically different to [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].

I wonder if it would help to consider other top girls’ names that would work with your boys for the same reason?

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

For example, [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is an easy twist on [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] from your list, but I feel it works better with [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] because they all share that common popularity (and Amelia’s A helps differentiate from Elijah’s E). [name_m]Or[/name_m] you could embrace the E and go with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] - perhaps as a nickname for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f].

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] could also work in the same way (since you like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] too) - no one would question it as a sister to [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. [name_m]Or[/name_m] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] as an alternative to [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]?

Otherwise, continue with the Biblical theme: [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] or [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], since you seem to like R names? [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], since you like the long O sound? [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], to match the boys’ endings, or [name_f]Keziah[/name_f], for something a bit less common.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are my top 2 for you. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f]!

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] go well with the boys. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]?

I think this nails how I’m feeling perfectly. For girl names I tend to gravitate towards modern/unisex, but that have a slightly more feminine vibe. EX I was really liking the name [name_m]Blake[/name_m] for a girl for a while but with [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] being more classic I think everyone would assume all three were boys.

Good point though, in the end we need to choose what feels right :two_hearts:

Yes! I think I like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] / [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] because all three names end with an “ah” sound. Same with [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], but I think my husband will shoot that one down.

[name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] do have a different feel from [name_f]Reese[/name_f], but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it.
I think my favorite with [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] on your list is [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

Some other ideas:
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Raya[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Avery[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] from your list. I think it goes well with brothers names, and you also get the spunky, gender neutral nickname.

I think you can definitely find a good gender neutral option that leans more feminine.
What about…

[name_m]Auden[/name_m]
[name_f]Quinn[/name_f]
[name_f]Greer[/name_f]
[name_f]Wren[/name_f]
[name_m]Carson[/name_m]
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f]
[name_f]Marlowe[/name_f]
[name_f]Avery[/name_f]
[name_f]Blair[/name_f]

[name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe something more feminine but tailored…
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Piper[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]

I think (in order):

Noah, Elijah & Rose
Noah, Elijah & Iris
Noah, Elijah & Amelia
Noah, Elijah & Ophelia

Charlotte seems to be a completely different genre to me, and the unisex girls but not boys doesn’t sit right for me.

Otherwise:

Noah, Elijah & Abigail
Noah, Elijah & Liora
Noah, Elijah & Seraphine
Noah, Elijah & Lydia
Noah, Elijah & Naomi
Noah, Elijah & Dahlia
Noah, Elijah & Stella
Noah, Elijah & Hazel

Maybe if you lean towards unisex for Girls you may like:

[name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] or [name_f]Selah[/name_f]

These are both biblical as well so it ties the set together…

[name_f]Dinah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Farah[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is lovely, maybe [name_m]Charley[/name_m] as a nickname, a bit more classic to me or on its own.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (Ada)
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
