Sibling for Norah Madeline

So, I only have about 35 weeks to pick a name, haha, but dh is quite picky and i would like to get a bigger list going this time, hopefully  With [name]Norah[/name], I mentioned her name 2 days before I had her and that was the first thumbs up on a name I got the entire pregnancy. It took me a little bit to get used to her name, i think as I was forgo-ing so many of my favorites, but it suites her perfectly and I’ve fallen in love with her name. ( [name]Madeline[/name] is after my sister) I do secretly wish I would have used a fuller formal name like [name]Eleanor[/name], etc. But what can you do? Dh has already vetoed my 3 year long name addict list except he liked [name]Ivy[/name] quite a bit and [name]Maebh[/name] got an ok. For boys, he likes [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Gideon[/name], a name combo he came up with on his own, which I like… and [name]Silas[/name]. Im really tempted to pick an Irish name as we all 3 have Irish names, but [name]Norah[/name] would match well with vintage names also, which is mostly my style… for boys, I am in love with a few bible names([name]Ezra[/name], [name]Silas[/name], [name]Abraham[/name], [name]Solomon[/name]) and then a few Irish ([name]Seamus[/name], [name]Declan[/name]) and some old fashioned ([name]Harry[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]William[/name], etc) Girls: Biblical ([name]Tirzah[/name], [name]Ardith[/name], [name]Zipporah[/name]) Irish ([name]Maebh[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Aoife[/name]) and a lot of the vintage… plus throw in some odd ones like [name]Hermione[/name] (one of my favs dh despises) and made up elf names from [name]Lord[/name] of the Rings, haha, which I won’t use because they’re made up, but love the sound of. Obviously, im all over the place and I feel like so much could flow stylistically with [name]Norah[/name] that i don’t know where to begin. What style do you think would be the best match? And what names do you think would go well? I’m hoping that something will come up that is unexpected, a name that I wouldnt think of… something that he loves and that it grows on me for that reason. See why I need all of 35 weeks? If anyone made it through my [name]ADD[/name] post, please help me before I start losing sleep over this (kidding, I like my sleep, nothing keeps us apart (minus babies of course)

Lol. [name]Norah[/name] and [name]Aubree[/name] ([name]Aubrey[/name]) for a girl. I’m not very good with boy names so I’ll leave that up to the next poster. Let me know what you think.

[name]Norah[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] is beautiful!
Here are some girl’s names I would sound good:

[name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Elsie[/name]
[name]Viola[/name] (pn vi-uh-la, instead of vee-ol-a)
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] (might be too popular)
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]May[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Kathleen[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]

Boy’s Names

[name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]/[name]Charlie[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Luke[/name]
[name]Peter[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Grady[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps!

I am partial to [name]Fiona[/name] because that is my daughter’s name. I love [name]Maeve[/name] also. [name]How[/name] about Niambh, but you could spell it Neave? For boys, [name]Callum[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Curran[/name].

If you go Irish, unless you live in [name]Ireland[/name], go for a phenetic spelling. For instance, I love [name]Siobhan[/name], but here in [name]America[/name], NO [name]ONE[/name] can pronounce it, and when they do, it’s literally ā€œSio-bon.ā€ So if you go with [name]Maeve[/name] and don’t live in [name]Ireland[/name], spell it as such or you will probably get ā€œMabe.ā€ That said, I love [name]Maeve[/name], and [name]Norah[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] is a beautiful combo.

Wow! Thank-you for all your responses! I finally was able to go through all your beautiful suggestions with dh, and not surprising to me, nothing he liked… so frustrating as there are so many names you all suggested that I had on my original list and a few I didn’t that I quite liked… I think I’m going to get out a baby name book and read every single name aloud to him until I find out what he likes, lol!

I really like [name]Norah[/name] [name]Madeline[/name]. It actually flows a lot better as just [name]Norah[/name] rather than [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] For a boy, I really like [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Gideon[/name] as your DH suggested. [name]Do[/name] you have any ideas for a family name to use as a middle name for a daughter or son? If your DD was given a family name, it would be nice, in my opinion, to use a family name for your 2nd child. Here are some more suggestions:
Girls:
Mairenn (or [name]Maren[/name])
[name]Kiera[/name] (means ā€œdarkā€ -a possible meaning for [name]Norah[/name] is ā€œlightā€ so it would make a neat pair)
[name]Shannon[/name] (maybe it’s a bit dated?)
[name]Teagan[/name] (my favourite in this list)
or how about some Welsh names:
[name]Seren[/name]
[name]Bronwen[/name] (or [name]Bronwyn[/name])
[name]Deryn[/name]
[name]Wynn[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]

Boys:
[name]Sean[/name]/[name]Shawn[/name]/[name]Shaun[/name] (although the [name]Shawn[/name] spelling seems more feminine to me)
[name]Cormac[/name]
[name]Finlay[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Keegan[/name] (although this one doesn’t have a very profound meaning imo)
[name]Kieran[/name] or [name]Kiernan[/name] (the male version of [name]Kiera[/name], so it also means 'dark")
[name]Niall[/name] or [name]Neal[/name] or [name]Neil[/name] (although I’m not really a fan of giving siblings names that start with the same letter)
[name]Nigel[/name] (means dark-haired… to go with light… but it starts with ā€˜N’ obviously)
[name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Quillan[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Torin[/name]

Have fun sorting through all the names!

What about [name]Camille[/name]?
