I’m 30 odd weeks pregnant with my second, don’t know the sex yet.
I have a daughter, [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] (Robyn is grandmother’s name), and we have an [name_u]Irish[/name_u] surname. We are an Irish-German family living in the UK, but will probably relocate to [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] sometime soon and children will grow up there. [name_m]Keen[/name_m] for the name to work in all three places/both languages. I also appreciate how short and easy [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is to spell/pronounce and would be keen for sibling to have similar.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband seems to very readily veto names but has few options to offer - ha! - so hoping I can get some inspiration from the experts;)
I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], or [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] “Etta” for girls (he doesn’t really like any of those). Middle name likely Helene/Helena after a grandmother. Husband likes [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and says [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] is OK.
I find boys name more difficult, but like [name_u]Henry[/name_u] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. Husband likes [name_m]Odhrán[/name_m] (Irish name anglicized as Oran). I kind of like [name_m]Odhrán[/name_m] (I think, maybe), but don’t know about mixing a Latin name with a very [name_u]Irish[/name_u] name… Middle name possibilities Hart/Hartmund after grandfather. I don’t think we can go with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] given the alliteration of [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] haha (not really intended just one of the only names we could agree on!)
I have a character names [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] haha! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name! Also I really [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as sibling name for [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]. It’s a pity that your husband doesn’t like it.
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ciara[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Niamh[/name_f]
[name_u]Juno[/name_u] or [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Maire[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
For a boy, I think [name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] is actually adorable in all its alliterative matchiness with [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Robyn[/name_f]! But, if you’re not too keen, I’d suggest names similar in style and familiarity to [name_u]Henry[/name_u] & [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but with a bit more of an [name_u]Irish[/name_u] bent to appease your husband’s taste, like these:
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m]
[name_u]Nolan[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] (not [name_u]Irish[/name_u], but not too far off and kind of bridges the gap between [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] & [name_m]Odhrán[/name_m], I think)
Okay first of all I love [name_m]Hart[/name_m] or Hartmund, how lovely!
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Robyn[/name_f] is actually adorable, but does rather lock you in if there are more siblings in future… [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] / Hartmund is also lovely and feels like it would work in all contexts.
[name_u]Zoe[/name_u] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] / [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is also really lovely imho!
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] (trimmed from [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], to better match length of Rosa)
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlin[/name_u] [name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] (to change things up a little, given the Hartmund option for the middle name)
[name_u]Blake[/name_u] Hartmund
[name_u]Ezra[/name_u] Hartmund
