Thinking about boy names for a brother to our son [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. Like the following three - what do you think? [name_u]Honest[/name_u] opinions welcome!
Wondering whether they’re too “different” to [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and will feel out of place as a sibset.
Name options:
[name_m]Bruno[/name_m]
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_m]Jones[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] vote for his brother goes to [name_m]Otto[/name_m] - it’s adorable and I love it with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. They’re both very sophisticated international names and I think they complement each other really well.
I’m also a fan of both [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and [name_m]Jones[/name_m] (Jones is so cool!) but they both feel a tad incongruous with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], not that I think you should let that stop you if one of them ends up being a favourite. I honestly think all three of these are fantastic and will make an excellent brother’s name for [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].
A couple of names that come to mind as good brother names for [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are:
I’m loving [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! All feel cool, classic and have a kind of pan-European charm. [name_m]Jones[/name_m] I think is a bit mismatched but [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] would be perfect. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] springs to mind as well for another strong, distinguished Euro name with a touch of quirkiness.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is lovely and I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] really works as a brother. They both have that international feel. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Seb[/name_m] would be cute
[name_m]Bruno[/name_m] works too and feels unexpected but familiar! [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and Bash would be sooooo cute ( I love alliteration when it comes to nicknames) . If [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] goes by bash as a nickname this one would get my vote!
I agree that [name_m]Jones[/name_m] doesn’t fit the same style as [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]- but if it’s an important family name and you love it I would use it! Realistically your kids won’t always be tied to their siblings and they will have their own unique personalities so I don’t think names necessarily have to match . I do like the suggestion of [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] or [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] if you want the names to match a little better
I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] the best, the others seem short and unexpected with the classical [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], I think these names work wonderfully with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
I like [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] is so underused, it would be refreshing to see it on a little boy and it goes well with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Otto[/name_m] on its own, but it would be good with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. [name_m]Jones[/name_m] has a completely different vibe though.
I don’t know if you’re looking for suggestions, but here are some that came to mind:
I think [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] work best. I like [name_m]Jones[/name_m], but it has a different vibe. I’d pick [name_m]Otto[/name_m], but only because we had a [name_m]Bassett[/name_m] Hound named [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] growing up . I do think it’s a great name though!
Other suggestions:
[name_m]Raymond[/name_m]
[name_m]Olivier[/name_m]
[name_m]Giovanni[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] is a great nn
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]
I like the Italian name vibe with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] best out of your choices but if I had two boys they would be [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is more common than [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] but if I met two boys with those names, I’d tell the parents “good job!”
