I’d love to know which of these names you think I should keep or axe. My husband only likes [name]Marguerite[/name] and while I like the name in theory, I don’t want to use it (and he doesn’t like the nickname I chose for it). Last name sounds like Sawnders.
Boy will almost definitely be [name]Wolf[/name] [name]Davis[/name].
Nicknames don’t have to be used but if they were, these are my preferences. Middles are family names.
Please mention any flow issues as well.
Thank you!
ETA: I didn’t mean for it to sound like he hates these names, he just wants Marguerite. I think I can sell him on one of these, that’s why I haven’t cut them yet.
If your husband doesn’t like any of them but [name]Marguerite[/name] and you won’t use it, you should axe all the names and start over. [name]Bayard[/name] is strong surname name and I would use something along those lines for a sister. (BTW, [name]Wolf[/name] works very well with it.)
[name]Bayard[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] or [name]Bayard[/name] or [name]Magnolia[/name] ( I prefer the nn [name]Noli[/name] for [name]Magnolia[/name]) are my favorites from your list. The other seems clunky and not as usable. Sorry!
I’m with you on [name]Marguerite[/name]. I love all of your other names. [name]Clementine[/name] (I like [name]Lemon[/name] as a nn), [name]Magnolia[/name], [name]Liesel[/name] and [name]Olympia[/name] (I live in [name]Washington[/name]- totally not usable here!) are on my own list. I think I like [name]Magnolia[/name] best with [name]Bayard[/name]. [name]Bay[/name] and [name]Nolie[/name] or [name]Bay[/name] and [name]Aggie[/name] are pretty cute together.
[name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Gretchen[/name] nn [name]Greta[/name] or [name]Gretel[/name]? I think they come from the same root as [name]Marguerite[/name], but they seem a little more fresh and modern to me. Maybe a nice compromise?
Because [name]Bayard[/name] is such a strong name and has a unisex or masculine vibe, [name]Marguerite[/name] and the other names on your list don’t seem to fit because they are all pretty feminine. I agree with the above comments that a last name/unisex name would work better as a sibset.
[name]Bayard[/name] is a French name so I think the French girls name above would be fine. I don’t agree that you need another surname for a girl. [name]Bayard[/name] is a strong name so that’s why I like the no-nonsense [name]Marguerite[/name] the best. I prefer [name]Margot[/name] or [name]Daisy[/name] as a nn for [name]Marguerite[/name]. [name]Clover[/name] is cute but I don’t know how you get it from the [name]Marguerite[/name] [name]Davis[/name] combo.
