Sibling for Uma and Nell...

Arghhh baby is due in just 3 weeks and I am having problems!
Those of you who didn’t read the last post, I am looking for an old-fashioned name ready for a bit of modernising.
This is the shortlist as stands, but I am REALLY just starting to think about middle names. So suggestions would be fantastic, as well as opinions on these names on a little girl/boy.

[name]Elvira[/name] ([name]Evie[/name]) [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Clio[/name] [name]Davina[/name]
[name]Lottie[/name] [name]Azalea[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] ([name]Winnie[/name]) [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
Rowan [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Brigit[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Thora[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Minna[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]
[name]Kitty[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name]

(The ones with unbolded middle names are the one I am not set on as a combo)

[name]Edgar[/name] (Edge) [name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Dimitri[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Apollo[/name]
[name]Linus[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] there are some opinionated Nameberries out there tonight…
X

From your list, these are the ones I really love with [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name]:

[name]Winifred[/name] ([name]Winnie[/name]) [name]Ivy[/name] (I like this one, but its my least favorite of the bunch)
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Brigit[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Thora[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] (like [name]Thora[/name] better than [name]Thea[/name] here, but I think they both go nicely with your other children’s names)

[name]Edgar[/name] (Edge) [name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Apollo[/name] ([name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] are my favorites by far from this group)
[name]Linus[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]

For girls I also like [name]Cora[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Alma[/name], Aara, [name]Lenora[/name] (nn [name]Nora[/name]), and [name]Eve[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name]).
For boys, [name]Noah[/name], [name]Henry[/name] (nn [name]Hank[/name]), [name]Theodore[/name] (nn [name]Theo[/name]), [name]Edwin[/name] (nn [name]Ned[/name]), and [name]Abraham[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name]).

thanks hayleysaunt!
Its reassuring that other people like [name]Linus[/name], [name]Thora[/name] and [name]Winifred[/name]! Wasn’t sure they were names that went down well, for some reason.

I love some of your suggestion names too, like [name]Henry[/name], [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Noah[/name], but all seem to be getting pretty popular. [name]Hazel[/name] I really like, and maybe could go as a mn for a girl?
Does it go well with any of my first name list do you think? Maybe [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]!? X

[name]Every[/name] night there are Nameberries with opinions… Here are mine with my faves in bold. All the best!

[name]Elvira[/name] ([name]Evie[/name]) [name]Jane[/name] - Goes with [name]Uma[/name] but I think [name]Nell[/name] would feel cheated that she got the less exotic name.
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Jane[/name] - I like this name with [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name]. All three sisters would have their own unique names.
[name]Clio[/name] [name]Davina[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Clio[/name] but I’m not sure if it flows well with [name]Davina[/name] in the middle spot. [name]Clio[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] maybe?
[name]Lottie[/name] [name]Azalea[/name] - [name]Lottie[/name] is only a nn for [name]Charlotte[/name] for me. [name]Margot[/name] [name]Azalea[/name] would be a pretty alternative!
[name]Winifred[/name] ([name]Winnie[/name]) [name]Ivy[/name] - OK
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] - [name]Zara[/name] is too similar to [name]Uma[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Alice[/name] - [name]Alice[/name] [name]Rowan[/name] would be better.
[name]Brigit[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name] - Not my taste. What about [name]Bridget[/name]?
[name]Thora[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] - I love all three names. I like [name]Thea[/name] better than [name]Thora[/name].
[name]Minna[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] - [name]Minna[/name] is too similar to [name]Uma[/name] in sound. [name]Love[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]! [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Mila[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Minka[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]?
[name]Kitty[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name] - OK but kind of cutesy. What about [name]Katya[/name]/[name]Katia[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name] or [name]Katrina[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name]?
My faves: [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Clio[/name] and [name]Thora[/name]/[name]Thea[/name],

[name]Edgar[/name] (Edge) [name]Leopold[/name] - This seems kind of clunky next to [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name]. [name]Leo[/name] would be a great first name.
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] - No
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Dimitri[/name] - YES, love this combo. I like the "o’ ending for a boy. [name]Arlo[/name], [name]Milo[/name], [name]Orlando[/name] etc…would all be great!
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Apollo[/name] - [name]Rupert[/name] would go well with [name]Nell[/name] but lacks the spark of [name]Uma[/name]. [name]Apollo[/name] is too much of a name for a boy to live up to.
[name]Linus[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] - [name]Theo[/name] would be better with [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name].
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this pairing!
My faves: [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Dimitri[/name] and [name]Rex[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]. Any boys name ending in O.

That’s a great list!

For a girl, my vote goes to either:
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] or [name]Minna[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]

For a boy:
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] or what about [name]Leo[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]?

I hope you don’t mind my critique and don’t find me too opinionated.

My favourite girl’s name from your list is [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Rowena[/name] then I like [name]Bridget[/name] but prefer the longer version of [name]Kitty[/name] ie [name]Katherine[/name] combo [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] nn [name]Bridie[/name]

[name]Zara[/name] while not a fave would be nice with [name]Zara[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] and [name]Zara[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] are good combos but [name]Winifred[/name] is a heavy name for a child to carry imo.

I find [name]Cleo[/name] more appealing than [name]Clio[/name] ([name]Clio[/name] reminds me of part of the body)

[name]Elvira[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] are both in the same class imo because they are whimsical and pretty girly names. I like your nn of [name]Evie[/name] too. Combo [name]Elvira[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Elvira[/name]

[name]Davina[/name] is a good choice [name]Davina[/name] [name]Marion[/name]

[name]Adelina[/name] [name]Alice[/name], [name]Alice[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]/[name]Rubina[/name]

[name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name] remind me a little of pussycats so that is a little offputting for me.

I prefer [name]Thea[/name] to [name]Thora[/name] as it has a sweeter, softer more feminine sound, eg [name]Thea[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

[name]Minna[/name] No would not use it. I like [name]Milana[/name] nn [name]Milly[/name] or [name]Lana[/name], [name]Milana[/name] [name]Cleo[/name]

[name]Edgar[/name] (Edge) [name]Leopold[/name] Cute nn
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] [name]Love[/name] the spelling of [name]Rohan[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Dimitri[/name] Style too mixed for me
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Apollo[/name]As above
[name]Linus[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] The flow is better as [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Linus[/name]
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] Good
My combos
[name]Rupert[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] is a strong, commanding name
[name]Edwin[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] (you get the [name]Win[/name] in the boy’s name rather than in [name]Winifred[/name])

best wishes

rollo

Can I suggest [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Alice[/name]? love the name [name]Daphne[/name] with [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name].
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] is my choice for a boy name.
good luck!

So happy to find all these busy [name]Berry[/name] replies. Fab.
Okay SO after that analysis, this is what I have
The ones bolded are current frontrunners (It changes constantly):

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Elvira[/name]/[name]Elvira[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] ([name]Evie[/name])
[name]Clio[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] ([name]Caddie[/name])
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] ([name]Winnie[/name])
[name]Bridget[/name] (liked the suggestion of [name]Bridie[/name] as a nn a lot and prefer this spelling now!) Stuck for a middle name- Want something REALLY old-fashioned to bring back alongside this combo I think. Quite like [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Elvira[/name]?
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] (rollo btw, did not find you too opinionated and agreed with most of your suggestions. [name]Minna[/name] is gone)
[name]Kitty[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]- The bf loves [name]Kitty[/name], and I do too but not as much as him. But basically he wants this one to stay!

Top 4!
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]- This is bf’s favourite though
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name]/ [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Demetrius[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Rex[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]

My favourite from your list is [name]Kitty[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]. ‘[name]Uma[/name], [name]Nell[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name]’ sounds gorgeous to me.

[name]Bridget[/name]/[name]Bridie[/name] is my other fave. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Ursula[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Millicent[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Cornelia[/name]

For the boys, I absolutely love [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] and [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]. I’ve always loved the name [name]Rudy[/name] but never thought of getting it from [name]Rupert[/name], it makes perfect sense!

Thanks freya55!
Funnily enough, those are the two boys names that are lurking in my mind the most…
[name]Rex[/name] sounds a bit hard and un-shortenable to me sometimes!

I love [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Cornelia[/name] and also [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] in fact.
[name]Do[/name] you think it matters that [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name] both have shorter full names- [name]Uma[/name] [name]Jean[/name] and [name]Nell[/name] [name]Isadora[/name]?
What do you think of [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Claudie[/name]?

The List
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Clio[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] ([name]Caddie[/name])
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] ([name]Bridie[/name])/[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Claudie[/name]
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] (Not sold on this combo together though, have to admit)
[name]Kitty[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]

[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name]/ [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Demetrius[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name] ([name]Rudy[/name]) [name]Theodore[/name]

[name]Claudia[/name] was an old family name, which I do love and would be nice to incorporate. Looking through the family tree there is also an [name]Ida[/name], a [name]Marguerite[/name], a [name]Rhoda[/name], a [name]Dorothea[/name] and on the boys side a Barcroft and a [name]Linden[/name]! Haha

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] is lovely and flows really well with your daughters, [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name]. [name]Uma[/name], [name]Nell[/name], and [name]Thea[/name]. [name]Clio[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] would be second for me. As for the boy name, I really enjoy [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name], it’s feel is that of [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name].

What about;

[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Ida[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Carys[/name]

[name]Claudie[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Claudie[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Theodora[/name]

[name]Linden[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Linden[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]

[name]Theo[/name] [name]Linden[/name]

I like these names from your list the best with [name]Uma[/name] [name]Jean[/name] and [name]Nell[/name] [name]Isadora[/name]. Good luck!
Girl
1 [name]Clio[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] - I love [name]Clio[/name] with [name]Uma[/name] and [name]Nell[/name]. I like the fact that all three girls have names with different endings.
2 [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] - See [name]Clio[/name]
3 [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] - See [name]Clio[/name]
4 [name]Thea[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] - [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Claudia[/name]/[name]Claudie[/name] better as a mn with [name]Thea[/name]?
Boy
1 [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] - Perfect!

[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] would be lovely, it has the [name]Claudie[/name] connection but in my mind fits better.
