We’ve backed ourselves in to a corner with too many “O” sounds! Having a really tough time finding names that fit but don’t sound too similar to our other kids.
Had to ditch the idea of [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_m]Roman[/name_m] because of the “O,” and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_m]Wes[/name_m] are out because they sound ridiculous with our last name. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #3 is due in a few months here (gender unknown) and I would love help brainstorming
I dont have any actual name suggestions, but I was curious about your daughter’s name. Does the unlaut ever cause problems, like trying to find the symbol on keyboards and whatnot? I just always wonder that when I see accent marks on names.
I tried to come up with names that contain an O, but the emphasis wasn’t as obvious as with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. That way, there is still a connection among the three siblings. These names all have the letter O or a similar vibe with your others names. Good luck – your children have beautiful names, and I have no doubts your third one will, too.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f], possible nicknames are “[name_f]Letta[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Lettie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_u]Josie[/name_u] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] (I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] jives best with your sibling set.)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_m]Abe[/name_m]
[name_m]Abram[/name_m]
[name_m]Beau[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] (my personal favorite of this group)
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Robert[/name_m]
[name_m]Saul[/name_m]
So far it hasn’t been a hassle at all. On Macs it is an easy key stroke, and admittedly I often don’t bother with the accent if I’m shooting a text or something quick like that. I love having the umlaut just because it is the traditional (“correct” I suppose) spelling, but I won’t be offended if she starts not bothering with it when she gets old enough to care one way or the other!
My husband did push for “[name_u]Zooey[/name_u]” but I thought it was fair that he got to choose the name and I picked the spelling
Some really lovely names on here that hadn’t even crossed my mind, so thank you all! [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] are even family names if I go back a couple generations, which is neat.
I love the connection you have.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Good luck!
If you want to keep the O theme, I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] because the O would be in a different place for all 3 children. If you want to move away from the Os, I like
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
I have an [name_u]Owen[/name_u], and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is one of my favorite girl names! Definitely a top contender if [name_u]Owen[/name_u] ever has a sister. I also have a cat named [name_f]Stella[/name_f], which I see has been suggested.
Some names I think would fit (with and without O’s):
[name_f]Mira[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Kira[/name_f], [name_f]Leda[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
I am so on the fence on alliterative names! I love some of the “S” names suggested but would hate to give my child a name that sounds like a hiss with the double SS
