Sibling initials - am I over thinking?

Hello, I am currently expecting my third daughter. My two girls are called Nancy and Annie and one of my top choices for baby 3 is Grace. The first letter of their names when put together spells NAG. Would this put you off? Am I overthinking? Thanks xx

In the nicest possible way, yes you’re definitely overthinking! [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is perfect with those sister names. A very sweet and stylish trio :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Definitely overthinking!

Honestly [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] & [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are lovely I would go for it.

I won’t comment on whether you’re overthinking, but this would definitely not put me off a name I loved, and I don’t think I would notice it in somebody else’s sibset.

I would’ve never noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out, and it doesn’t bother me at all even now that you did! I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is lovely with your daughters’ names :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’ve just noticed something else which might persuade you one way or the other:

[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] both derive from [name_u]Anne[/name_u], which means… “grace”! Quite a cool and subtle connection, I think.

I don’t think it’s a big issue

IMO I believe you are way overthinking this. Please use the name you love and don’t worry about what your children’s initials spell out when put together. Most likely you’re not going to put their first initials only anywhere together very often, if at all. If you do and it bothers you putting them in birth order, just switch the order up (i.e. put it in reverse birth order, etc.).

[name_f]Nancy[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are lovely together. I like how they all mean grace and have a vintage feel. I wouldn’t have noticed the initials

I think it’s rare that you would write all your children’s intials out right? So I reckon you are definitely ok

This was actually my first thought! I would’ve never noticed the ‘nag’ issue!

Definitely not anything to worry about. I will say though that my family does put me and my sister’s initials together, but only because it spells out ‘BIG’. It’s definitely not frequent though, nobody ever notices it, and I totally wouldn’t stress over it!

[name_f]Nancy[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] make the most lovely trio of sisters!

I don’t think it’s a big deal. Initials won’t really be written out together often I don’t think.

A funny story though: my brother’s sister in law apparently hung their family’s stockings in reverse order of youngest person to oldest because their initials spelled JERK. (So the baby’s name starts with J and the dad’s name is with a K.) So they purposely hung them to spell out a word instead of going oldest to youngest to have KREJ.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all! It’s a lovely sibset, and very rarely will the initials be written out like that, so I am in firm belief that you’re absolutely fine!

I think you’re overthinking, luckily! That wouldn’t put me off the sibset, and I love the connected meanings.
