I have a 2 year old daughter named Wrenley [name]Marie[/name], [name]Rennie[/name] for short, and we are expecting another child in 4 months. If we have a boy we are definitely naming him [name]Emerson[/name] [name]James[/name], and for a girl, her middle name will be [name]Elle[/name]. My husband and I have been going through the name books and we have narrowed down to 2 girl names we like, [name]Hadleigh[/name] or [name]Artie[/name], tell me which you like.
Welcome to Nameberry!!!
I prefer Hadleigh to Artie, though neither name is my style.
Artie is too much of a nn of Arthur for me for me to imagine loving it on a girl. However, I find that Wrenley and Hadleigh are oddly close together with the -ley/-leigh endings. I would probably consider a similar H name without the -leigh ending, something like Hattie, Hadiya and Heather.
Good Luck!
I like Pemberly and [name]Willoughby[/name].
[name]Hadleigh[/name] looks like a hot mess, sorry - the whole -leigh thing is so overdone and [name]Hadley[/name] is trendy and is about to pop in terms of trending and popularity. [name]Artie[/name] feels like a masculine nickname, but a full anme for a little girl - it could be used as a nickname for [name]Artemis[/name] or maybe [name]Artemisia[/name].
Suggestions…
[name]Harlow[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Sidonie[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name] (prefer this spelling immensely, sorry) [name]Elle[/name] flows together better and fits with your daughter’s name slightly better, though I’m not wild about both names ending the same. [name]Rennie[/name] and Haddie are great little sis names. Good luck.
I prefer [name]Artie[/name] to [name]Hadleigh[/name] in part because I don’t like Wrenley and [name]Hadleigh[/name]'s matching endings (even though they’re spelled differently), but I agree that [name]Artie[/name] seems insubstantial on its own and I don’t think that [name]Artie[/name] [name]Elle[/name] flows well. Perhaps you might like [name]Arden[/name]?
[name]Hadleigh[/name] is definitely better than [name]Artie[/name]. I think of [name]Artie[/name] as a nickname for the masculine name [name]Arthur[/name]. I would spell it [name]Hadley[/name], but that’s just my preference. Here are some other suggestions that fit your style, if you’re open to them…
