Expecting our second daughter at the end of [name_f]May[/name_f] and we are having a hard time getting our first name choices down to a short list! I’m wondering if grouping our favorites into {Best} sibling sets will help steer me in a direction. I kind of wish I had thought of this when naming our first daughter, [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. Her biblical name always feels a bit mis-matched (to me) without another biblical name for her coming sister. We don’t really want to pick something just because it “matches” either. Looking for that balance I guess, and trying to take future baby names in a more vintage direction?
I’m looking for input on which sound best for a trio of sisters…I’ve been really loving [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] together as sisters. What do you think? Or [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]…all -ee endings too weird? [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/le & ? Other suggestions welcome…
Like these, keep coming back to them:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Did any of you plan your girls/boys in sibling sets? I know that tastes change over time and even when seeing the baby sometimes so is sib-set planning even practical? Did any of you choose your favorite names for each child without much regard for how they sounded next to each other? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious and trying to avoid name regret!! Thanks everyone!
With [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], I like these sibling names best:
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] & [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] & [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
What about:
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
I don’t pay much attention to sib sets…personally it doesn’t bother me. I’d rather pick two names that I love than compromise on names just to have them sound good together. Our first daughter is named [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] and our second (due in [name_f]May[/name_f]) will be [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], unless we change our minds We didn’t intentionally pick another “A” name…just happened that way. If we have another baby I wouldn’t seek out another “A” name just to have 3.
I would just pick names that you really like…the kids will have the same last name as it is.
I like siblings to have some sort of “name cohesion” so I love sibsets. That’s just the way my brain works. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is vintage but with an underlying sass and energy. I get the same vibe from [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] on your lists. I do like siblings to have different endings but [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] has so much energy it’s hard to resist her, isn’t it? Have you considered spelling [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] as [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] (the Scottish version)? For some reason, the “o” has more zip. So I’m really liking [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. Here are some other suggestions (Biblical and otherwise).
