We are having a new baby next month (due [name_u]December[/name_u] 15). We don’t know the gender… We have two children already [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]… For boys I like [name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]… and for girls I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
I want something that isnt too common but still normal
Any suggestions. and any opinions on the names I listed. Thank YOU!
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are lovely, traditional names.
For boys, from your list I like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] for your sibset. Both are traditional, classic and handsome names, with a similarly regal feel to them. I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] but I don’t think it works with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]-it seems too casual for me when paired with these two rather more formal names. Maybe you could have a more formal name like [name_m]John[/name_m] or [name_u]James[/name_u] and use [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as a nickname if you really like this option. [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] are completely off for me, as they do not in my opinion match the style of your existing children’s names at all.
For a girl, I have to say that I don’t like the idea of [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. The double barrel just doesn’t work for me, and it makes the name overtly long. I love [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] on its own and I think that this would go very well in your sibset. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is sweet too, though I prefer it as a nickname for longer names such as [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Annalee[/name_f].
Some other names that I think you maybe might like include: [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_u]Toby[/name_u], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].
Of your names, my favourites are [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
I agree with the PP that [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is really beautiful, and I personally don’t care for double barrel names.
Other girl name ideas: [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
Other boy name ideas: [name_m]William[/name_m]/[name_m]Will[/name_m], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
I too am not wild about hyphenated first names but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] are certainly lovely traditional names that fit well with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] & [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
My top pick from your boys’ list is [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. It’s classic, but not too overly used on babies these days. Plus if he wants to go by [name_m]Joe[/name_m] when he’s older he can. My second favorite for you would be [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] although it seems likely he might get called [name_u]Nick[/name_u] which is a bit similar to [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. For the same reason I’d personally avoid [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and also like PP pointed out [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is more informal/nicknamey than siblings names. [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] sound slightly dated to me, [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] more so.
For boys, a few suggestions that I thought might fit with your style were…
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_m]Ian[/name_m]
For girls maybe…
[name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], or [name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
Congrats!
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] a lot and think it is super sweet. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and think it sounds wonderful with your other children’s names. Very classic, classy, and beautiful!
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]… and for girls I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are lovely classic names.
From your names, [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] or [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] would be my choice for a boy.
Other names I would use - some are not as classic, perhaps more modern but have the possibility of a style fit to me.
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] /[name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] [name_m]Nate[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Penn[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is really quite lovely for me since I don’t favor hyphenated given names too. I am thinking that she would be different to ono, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] -you are obviously thinking of that, so I am surmising you have a very special love for the name.
like PPs [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] alone would be my choice. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] close 2nd. but I would not be able to suggest alternatives if you are seeking hyphenated names,
Best wishes.
