Sibling names different enough?

Our children are [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] “[name_f]Suzy[/name_f]” and we like the name [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] for #3

Is the nickname [name_f]Marcy[/name_f] is too much of a blend of the two names?
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] too similar?

Any other nicknames suggestions welcome!

Marceline and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] seem far too similar to me for siblings, but [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] is a lovely choice and [name_f]Marcy[/name_f] is a cute nickname!

Marceline is absolutely beautiful!
They are a little close for me personally but I can totally appreciate these names together!

Maybellene has been on my list for 15 years but too many people told me the make up company association wouldn’t be positive thing because of the commercial jingles. We thought of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] because its similar haha. Now I am going in circles and rethinking it

It would be wonderful to meet a [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name you never hear about. That said, it shares a lot of sounds and letters with [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. The first three letters are identical, each is followed by sibilance with ‘c’ and ‘sh’ respectively, and finally followed by an ‘l’. If you take away the last syllable from [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], they are almost the same name–[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_m]Marcel[/name_m].

There are other nicknames you could use as mentioned above that would sound to varying degrees different from each sibling but then in that case I would actually just choose the nickname as the full name. Does [name_f]Celine[/name_f] hold some appeal to you? It’s the most distinct option from [name_f]Marceline[/name_f].

I understand how you’ve gone from your beloved [name_f]Maybellene[/name_f] to [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. You’ve probably already thought of most of alternatives already, but may I suggest [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f], [name_f]Darlene[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Helene[/name_f], [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_f]Sabine[/name_f], [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] and [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f].

It’s only too similar if you think so. Its the beginning with the [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- that’s the same, the ending is definitely different enough. Other ideas…

Macy - very close to [name_f]Marcy[/name_f] and this fixes the problem with the beginning!
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]/May (could also work for [name_f]Maybellene[/name_f] - I don’t think this has to be off the table!)
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]

I’d personally avoid them, yes. The [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- beginnings and shared L sound in second syllables is too much.

What about [name_f]Marcia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Marcy[/name_f] or [name_f]Celine[/name_f]?

I think its fine
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m]
[name_f]Suzy[/name_f]
[name_f]Marcy[/name_f]

Hmm this is tough. For me [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] would be too close. That said, I love both names, so I see the dilemma.

I actually love [name_f]Maybellene[/name_f]! I don’t have strong connections to the makeup, but it might cross my mind briefly.

What do you think of [name_f]Marinette[/name_f]?

Mabella / Maybella
[name_f]Mayella[/name_f]
[name_f]Maybelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Margery[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariel[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]

I think [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] is too close to [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and I also think the nickname [name_f]Marcy[/name_f] is too much of a blend of the two names.

Yes, [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] are too similar IMO.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] is one of my top girl names! I recently asked berries for creative nicknames for [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] so maybe you can use their suggestions to come up with a different NN to make it easier to differentiate from [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] (I LOVE this by the way)
