I think both [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] work well with [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_m]Otis[/name_m] does sound fairly similar to [name_u]August[/name_u] in my accent, but I don’t think it’s too much.
August is one of those versatile names that can lean into a vintage classic sibset or a modern nature vibe - or even tie them together, sitting nicely between the two. I think it would work equally well with a sprinkle of literary names, like [name_u]Huxley[/name_u] or [name_u]Alcott[/name_u].
Here’s a few to add to @VEL and @Greyblue’s great suggestions:
I think [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] are perfect together! They’re both super sweet and have nature ties (the month of [name_u]August[/name_u] = summertime and the meaning of [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] = from the forest). [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] sound a bit too similar to me. Here’s my ideas:
I like the suggestion of [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is too close to [name_u]August[/name_u]. Maybe you would like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].
