Still searching for the perfect sibling name for [name]Lottie[/name] (not [name]Charlotte[/name]). Our list has gotten shorter, but we are still not sure. Here is what we have:
[name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]! I love [name]Zoe[/name] as well but it doesn’t go with [name]Lottie[/name] as fine as [name]Nora[/name].
I do like [name]Pippa[/name] and [name]Abby[/name] but only for nicknames, they are not kinda name that can be used on its own.
[name]Lottie[/name] is gorgeous BTW:)
Some other ideas:
[name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name]*
[name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Jenny[/name]
[name]Minty[/name]*
[name]Dolly[/name]
[name]Minnie[/name]*
[name]Birdie[/name]
[name]Sally[/name]
[name]Polly[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Gracie[/name]*
[name]Franny[/name]
The starred ones are my favorite ones. Also, my daughter’s name is [name]Cornelia[/name] but we call her [name]Nelly[/name] - [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Nelly[/name] also work well, don’t they?
I actually prefer the non -ie/-y ending. Unless is looks pretty different. [name]Hattie[/name] of course sprung to mind, but that is super matchy. [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name] work best, imo. Yes, [name]Pippa[/name] is very nicknamey… but so is [name]Lottie[/name], so together they work. [name]Lottie[/name] & [name]Tess[/name]. [name]Pippa[/name] & [name]Lottie[/name]. I also love the names [name]Nora[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name]. A few other ideas: [name]Esme[/name], [name]Mira[/name], [name]Mila[/name], [name]Zora[/name], [name]Zola[/name], [name]Nola[/name].
Thanks for the replies! Our favorite right now is [name]Nora[/name] with [name]Lottie[/name]. We also [name]Love[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] but I feel like they are both too matchy. Since [name]Lottie[/name] is technically a nickname for [name]Charlotte[/name], we would like to go for other nicknames as given names. We would also like to stick with nicknames of classic names such as [name]Nora[/name] for [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Pippa[/name] for [name]Phillipa[/name], [name]Tessa[/name] for [name]Theresa[/name], [name]Abby[/name] for [name]Abigail[/name] etc. to keep the same feel as [name]Lottie[/name]. Any thoughts?
[name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name] fit well [name]IMO[/name] as does [name]Abbie[/name]. I agree with emsky that the names that begin with ‘ee’ sounds clash a little bit with [name]Lottie[/name].
Out of [name]Nora[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Tessa[/name], and [name]Abby[/name], I would eliminate [name]Abby[/name]. To me it doesn’t have as much spunk as [name]Lottie[/name] and the other choices. I still think [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name] match best with [name]Lottie[/name], but [name]Nora[/name] is my favorite name overall and works too.
I would suggest no hardcore nickname and no name ending with ee sound. So [name]Eden[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] sound OK. Although [name]Nora[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] are nicknames, they are not full blown nn as [name]Pippa[/name] and work on their own.
[name]Love[/name] the nicknames you’re looking at-they’re all so cute! [name]Eliza[/name] is my favorite name on your list, but I don’t think it goes quite as well with [name]Lottie[/name], and whenever I see it I think of a stand-alone name, not a nickname, even though it can be one, so it might not fit exactly what you’re looking for. I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name], though! Definitely my favorite combo from your list. They both have the double consonant in the middle and the vowel sound ending and go really well together without being over matchy. [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] would be my second favorite
Thanks Sarahdoodle! I love the idea of [name]Pippa[/name] too and love the nn [name]Pip[/name] as does OH. I just can’t get over the connection to [name]Pippa[/name] Middleton. I’m starting to warm up to it slowly. As you said, I think stylistically it fits the best with [name]Lottie[/name]. Although I just love the vintage feel of a [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] sibset
