[name_f]My[/name_f] SO and I are trying for another baby. We had a hard time naming our first. Our last name is difficult to match a first name with, it has the typical polish -ski ending.
We came up with [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Evander[/name_m] for our first and love his name. [name_f]My[/name_f] only disappointment is that now [name_m]Roman[/name_m] is becoming more and more popular.
We like names that are familiar but not popular or [name_m]Uber[/name_m] traditional.
We both like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] for a boy (but it’s starting to get too popular)
I like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]
For girls I like [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_u]Adair[/name_u], and [name_f]Honora[/name_f]
Husband likes [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Sonja[/name_f], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] work, but I think I’d probably avoid [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] as a brother name for [name_m]Roman[/name_m].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] with [name_m]Roman[/name_m], and [name_f]Honora[/name_f] is stunning! I really love [name_f]Petra[/name_f] myself, though, so that’s probably my favorite – plus, it’s very uncommon and not likely to shoot up in popularity anytime soon, which can’t be said for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalia[/name_f].
[name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Sonja[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] feel a little mismatched, imho, and I’d avoid [name_f]Iris[/name_f] if you’re worried about popularity.
I might suggest these:
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Caius[/name_m]
[name_m]Cassius[/name_m]/[name_m]Cassian[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m] (maybe too Gladiator w/ [name_m]Roman[/name_m]?)
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
Ooh I love a lot of these. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is the hard one to get on board. He has already given a solid no to a couple of these and to some of mine.
For boys:
We really like [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] but are worried about how Eastern European we’d make him sound. Not that it’s a problem at all. This was a strong contender for [name_m]Roman[/name_m], but felt [name_m]Roman[/name_m] was more relatable in the US.
Also, like [name_u]Nico[/name_u] (but one of my coworkers has this for a son - so I feel like that is too close of a contact, especially since it’s a more unique name).
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] is a favorite of mine, but I don’t dare to ask my husband. I can already see his face. Better wait until I’m actually pregnant to bring that one up.
For girls:
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f], love this name. Husband thinks it’s too much I think it’s just right.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], love this one as well! It’s been on my list for awhile. Husband is indifferent we will see!
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f], love it husband isn’t excited about it. Not sure why I think it’s great just like cosima.
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f], love this name and any form of [name_f]Julia[/name_f] but it’s too [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] with [name_m]Roman[/name_m].
[name_f]Celia[/name_f], love this as well.
