I think they’re beautiful, vintage, and sophisticated. Maybe a tad dated (: but I hear old names are scheduled to make a comeback. Most people like [name]Genevieve[/name] but [name]Agatha[/name]… not so much. I would use the nicknames ‘[name]Evie[/name]’ and ‘[name]Hattie[/name]’ if I ever have two girls. I know [name]Hattie[/name] is unusual a a nickname for [name]Agatha[/name] but it isn’t unheard of. (And if [name]Heidi[/name] can be a nickname for [name]Adelaide[/name], all bets are off. Lol).
[name]Both[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] & [name]Agatha[/name] are lovely names. I’ve always liked [name]Genevieve[/name], since it’s the name of my favorite Aunt!
[name]Genevieve[/name] seems so pretty and light next to [name]Agatha[/name] which seems so clunky to me. Maybe [name]Anneliese[/name] ([name]Annie[/name]), [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Josy[/name]), [name]Amelie[/name] ([name]Millie[/name])?
I like [name]Genevieve[/name], but not [name]Agatha[/name]. [name]Just[/name] my opinion though. Use them both if you love them!
I’m not at all a fan of [name]Agatha[/name]. I don’t like the sound “ag” for a name. It’s just not attractive to me. I also think that they don’t go together very well. To me, [name]Genevieve[/name] is a very pretty, romantic sounding name. [name]Agatha[/name] is a dull thud.
What about [name]Agnes[/name] or [name]Ines[/name] instead of [name]Agatha[/name]? I like them both with [name]Genevieve[/name].
I love [name]Agatha[/name], but only with the nickname [name]Aggie[/name]. [name]Hattie[/name] seems way off to me.
I love [name]Genevieve[/name] and agree with above posters that [name]Agnes[/name] ( my grandmas name) or [name]Inez[/name] is a better fit with [name]Genevieve[/name].
I have always liked [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Christie[/name]. [name]Genevieve[/name] is getting rather popular. It’s at 232 and rising. It’s also a favorite of mine. I agree its lighter than [name]Agatha[/name]. [name]Agatha[/name] is not in the top 1000. But they are both nice names.
I am less enthusiatic about the nicknames. I would name girls [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Harriett[/name] if I wanted to call them [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name], but I am not big on nicknames so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I don’t have a problem with the name [name]Agatha[/name], but I agree that it’s quite clunky next to [name]Genevieve[/name] and the two don’t really go well together. I also agree that [name]Hattie[/name] is a quite a stretch for the nickname [name]Agatha[/name] and I would have a problem calling an [name]Agatha[/name] “[name]Hattie[/name]” even if that was how the mother introduced her…(same with [name]Heide[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name]!)
[name]Genevieve[/name] is gorgeous but [name]Agatha[/name] is really not my cup of tea. I agree with dindlee. They don’t sound right together. Maybe [name]Vivienne[/name] or [name]Aurelia[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name]? Or since you mentioned it, [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] sound lovely together, but I’d skip on calling [name]Adelaide[/name] “[name]Heidi[/name]”.
I like them both, but think that [name]Hattie[/name] is truly a bit of a stretch for agatha…
I love both [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name], but togther not so much. Gevevieve is lighter and somewhat frillier which makes [name]Agatha[/name] (which is normally great) seem kind of heavy and clunky which is a shame.
I find them both really unattractive, I’m afraid. I quite like vintage names, but not these two.
