Sibling set ideas!

Okay, I don’t have any kids yet, but I have always wanted a big family so I currently have 4 names that I like, and I was wondering what people think of them as a sibling set! I’ll explain the significance of each name as I list them below:

BOY NAMES:

[name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] D. Hubby’s name is [name_m]Bill[/name_m], and as [name_m]Bill[/name_m] is a NN for [name_m]William[/name_m], we thought it would be a cute way to name our future son after him in kind of an indirect way. [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] is also hubby’s grandpa’s name; he’s an identical twin and so he was named [name_m]Bill[/name_m] after grandpa’s first name, [name_m]William[/name_m], and his twin brother is named [name_u]Blake[/name_u] after grandpa’s middle name, [name_u]Blake[/name_u]. So by naming a little guy [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] we can honor grandpa, hubby, and his twin brother!

[name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] D. [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] is random, I just heard it recently and its kind of grown on me. I think its cute and unique. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] would be after my brother, who is also named after my grandmother, [name_f]Jaclyn[/name_f]. I think OJ is kind of a cute nickname too (despite possible negative associations with OJ [name_m]Simpson[/name_m]).

GIRL NAMES:

[name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] D. I have always loved the name [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. My name is [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], so it’s kind of similar to my name. It also means pearl, which is the birth stone for [name_u]June[/name_u], and [name_u]June[/name_u] is my great grandma’s name. I just love it. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is my mother’s name. I feel like it doesn’t flow great, but I really want to honor my mom by naming a daughter after her. I have thought about using something like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] in place of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], but I’m not sure. Advice is welcome.

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] D. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is another one of those names I love! [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is a close second, but something about [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is slightly more appealing to me. I chose [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] because hubby’s mom’s name is [name_f]Lori[/name_f]. I would like to be fair and name a child after his mother as well. [name_f]Lori[/name_f] just isn’t the most beautiful name to me, so I thought maybe a close alt. would be good. [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] makes me think of [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m], so I really like it. Also I love alliteration in names! LLD is pretty cute I think.

bonus girl name:

[name_u]Darby[/name_u] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] D. This one just came to me… [name_u]Darby[/name_u] is my middle name, given to me to honor my great grandma [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_u]Darby[/name_u]. Also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the DD initials.

Let me know what ya’ll think of these names! Thanks

I think [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] sound good together, and [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] sound good together, but as a set of 4 it’s not very cohesive.

What about [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] for the second boy?

Also, I think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Darby[/name_u] work better

[name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] is a famous poet of the Romantic period, a really interesting and wild one who drew extravagant pictures to go with his poems. He is a big figure and pretty much all readers will make this association because it was his full name. Was grandpa named after him? Maybe just read some of his poetry to make sure you like it.

Otherwise you could mix it up I think and still honor your husband and his grandpa. [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]? I took the above suggestion of [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] to make them match better. I don’t think matchy names are super important, but since it’s what you asked about, I would say [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]Blake[/name_u] feel more serious and classic and [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] more playful and modern. Maybe [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] and [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] (or v.v.) would blend them better?

For the girls I wonder if [name_f]Sarai[/name_f] could work as an honor name for your mom. Strikes me as a sweet parallel to [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. I love [name_u]Darby[/name_u]. It goes better with [name_f]Margo[/name_f] as a first in my opinion (and these two would go better with your boys). They both have pizazz and strength. I prefer the [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and Margeaux spellings personally, though.

I think these names can work well and I love the meanings, they might just benefit from a little blending if you want that feeling of a set. If it were me I would go with [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Osborn[/name_m], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_u]Darby[/name_u]. Cute!

Each name is cute in it’s own way, but the do seem odd as a sibset.

[name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] is strong and handsome, but I agree with the pp who said to read the poetry and make sure you like it (I had to memorize “The [name_m]Tyger[/name_m]” in 8th grade and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it).
[name_m]Ozzie[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] isn’t my style, although I think the OJ can be cute if you like it. We had a local athlete called OJ a few years ago, and it worked well for him. The above suggestion of [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] or some other name ([name_m]Osmond[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Oswald[/name_m]?) that could lead to the nickname might be better.

Not sure what I think of [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m] or [name_m]William[/name_m] and OJ as brothers, but it’s not horrible.

[name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is fine. I actually really like [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. I think it flows better. Also I think [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] work as siblings, and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] to [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m] is kind of neat, so you end up with a bridge there.

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is not for me. While [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is one of my favorite names, I am not a fan of alliteration at all. Although, while [name_f]Luna[/name_f] isn’t my style, I really like it as a sister name for all of the others.
