We are expecting our third. Ours sons’ names are [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Grant[/name] and [name]Levi[/name] [name]Edward[/name]. We are not planning to learn the sex before our baby arrives so we need a boy and a girl name that compliment our boys’ names.
[name]Favorite[/name] boy name is [name]Silas[/name] [name]David[/name]. I want the first name to be Biblical and two syllables, and the middle name to be a family name (consistent with our boys’ names). The concern with [name]Silas[/name] is that it’s too similar to [name]Isaac[/name]… Wondering what others think… are [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] too similar?
[name]Favorite[/name] girl name is [name]Miriam[/name], and would plan to call her [name]Miri[/name]. I like that it’s Biblical, but don’t feel as much a need to stay Biblical with our girl name as I do with our boy name. My grandma’s name was [name]Mary[/name], and I’ve read that [name]Miriam[/name] is one of the early forms of [name]Mary[/name]. Definitely want to use a family name for her middle name, but it seems tough. My favorite options are:
[name]Miriam[/name] [name]Rowena[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]
My sister, mom, and grandma all share the middle name, [name]Ann[/name]. I don’t think this works because it sounds like “marry a man.”
Other family middle name options are: [name]Emily[/name], [name]Faith[/name], [name]Marie[/name], [name]Deborah[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], and [name]Kate[/name]. I think [name]Emily[/name] is too strong, [name]Faith[/name] makes the initials MFB (probably not a good thing), and [name]Marie[/name] is a bit heavy on the alliteration. [name]Deborah[/name] and [name]Ruth[/name] seem to be Biblical overkill (Yes, I know [name]Silas[/name] [name]David[/name] could be too.), and [name]Kate[/name] sounds like “[name]William[/name] and [name]Kate[/name]” to me.
Any advice/suggestions welcome. [name]Happy[/name] to consider other first names as well. Last name begins with B and is two syllables.
