Expecting baby #3 in [name]April[/name]. My first daughter is [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and my second is [name]Luisa[/name] [name]Maura[/name].
If it is a girl, I would like to continue the family tradition of using a form of [name]Mary[/name] as a middle name (or potentially a first name). We will most likely use [name]Maria[/name] as a middle name. I would also like to keep the Italian/Latin feel to their names. Some of the names on our list are:
[name]Adriana[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Carmela[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Antonella[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Giada[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Giada[/name] [name]Maria[/name] is my favorite sounding name, however, I have a hard time getting rid of the association of [name]Giada[/name] DeLaurentiis. I love her as a chef and get all of my recipes from her collection, I just don’t know that I want to name my child after her, or at least look as if she is named after her. Thoughts on this? Or alternate name suggestions?
If it is a boy, we would like to use my husbands name, [name]Christopher[/name], as a middle name. Would still like to have a Latin/Italian feel but not sound too [name]Guido[/name]-ish, which is hard with Italian boys names! ;). We like:
[name]Angelo[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Gian[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Lucca[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
Thoughts?
I love [name]Antonia[/name] with [name]Sophia[/name] and [name]Luisa[/name], but I don’t love the double -ia of [name]Antonia[/name] [name]Maria[/name], although I like [name]Maria[/name] as well. What about?
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mare[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mamie[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Manette[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Maren[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Molly[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Marisol[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Marja[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mitzi[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Moira[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Maris[/name]
And there as also things like [name]Pilar[/name] and [name]Delores[/name] related to [name]Mary[/name] if you don’t mind wandering a bit.
I like [name]Julian[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] the most for the boys. I would say [name]Luca[/name], but [name]Luca[/name] and [name]Luisa[/name] isn’t great.
We do keep coming back to [name]Antonia[/name] but I completely agree about the double -‘ia’ sounding funny. I tend to feel like middle names should have a meaning. Unfortunately, most of my family members first names are very out of date and not the trendy old fashioned ones, such as [name]Gladys[/name], [name]Fannie[/name], [name]Phyllis[/name], etc.
Another middle name option would be to use my confirmation name which is [name]Elizabeth[/name] or just [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mari[/name]
Or how about [name]Maria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]?
[name]Antonia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is fine, but I’d go with [name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mary[/name] I think to stay with the sisters. I love [name]Maria[/name], even as a first name, but I’m not sure I like it with sisters that have [name]Mary[/name]-esque names as middles. I think [name]Antonia[/name] [name]Mary[/name] is perfect.
I’m so happy to see someone mention [name]Antonia[/name] on here. It’s one of those names I have a real soft spot for, but I seem to be the only one. It’s so great for you though.
