Siblings: Forest & River. thoughts?

hello berries!

what would you think of brothers named [name_u]Forest[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u]? I love both names separately but not sure if they sound too much together or would subject the children to teasing. could I use both or should i pick 1 and stick with that?

thank you!!

I don’t think they’ll get teased, but it definitely seems like a deliberate theme. I would expect another distinct nature name for anymore siblings.

It is a bit matchy. I think it may be a bit much for siblings.

To be totally and brutally honest, I’d assume the parents were a little …odd. It’s … a little tacky? Sorry, not the nicest thing, I know… :frowning:

Same goes for sibsets like:

  • Archer and [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
  • Hunter and [name_u]Forest[/name_u]
  • Paris and [name_u]London[/name_u]

I love both names but I think in the end with a third child you’ll probably be pressured to have a theme, It’ll works given how there’s an abundance of nature names but people will probably make light hearted jokes of it, maybe as a middle to make names connect, I actually have a nature themed  sibling set and [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_u]Cloud[/name_u] are middle names for both boys

no, this is what I was looking for! thanks so much for the honesty!!

oh how lovely! what a good idea for middles – I especially love [name_u]Cloud[/name_u]!

Its definitely a theme. Both names are popular so its probably fine but its like meeting siblings named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_u]Linden[/name_u] and [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u]. I dont know that I would use both as first names, maybe one could be a middle? But they are both popular names so really if you don’t mind it, they’re not unusable together.

If they were far enough apart in age it might not be a problem (thinking from a school-yard teasing perspective). I’m thinking at least 5 years, maybe more

I’m not sure if the kids would get teased but I think people would assume you were hippies

If they were both first names, I’d for sure think the parents pushed the name-theme envelope a bit far, but it would only be a fleeting thought. I’d probably chuckle when thinking about it. Then I’d think about what you’d name the next one.

Then I’d move on with my life.

If you love it, go for it.

I think it’s a nice sibset)

Throughout life, it would be fine, Maybe when they were little and often together and introduced together, it might be a bit giggle-inducing. “[name_u]Forest[/name_u]! [name_u]River[/name_u]! Come on in inside for dinner!”

But they are nice names. I also love [name_u]Canyon[/name_u], [name_m]Tide[/name_m], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u], [name_u]Prairie[/name_u], [name_u]Elm[/name_u], [name_u]Linden[/name_u], [name_u]Cedar[/name_u], [name_u]Spruce[/name_u], [name_u]Pine[/name_u], [name_u]Harbor[/name_u], and [name_m]Moss[/name_m] as well.

They wouldn’t be teased. I would just expect other strong nature names for their siblings (and assume you are very outdoorsy).

Looks like I might be in the minority, but I think it’s fine, and I also love both names.

It’s a sweet theme without being too much as they’re both well established as names. You could use the [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] spelling to break it up a bit
