Our 4 yr old son’s name is [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and we have a daughter on the way that we would like to name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] after my grandmother. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the names are too matchy or do they sound nice together? We do not plan on any other children so worrying about a third R would hopefully be irrelevant.
If you were calling [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], then yes that would be too matchy. [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are quite darling together! There is always [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rose[/name_f] if you’re worried about them being too similar.
I think they are fine together, but I would second the suggestion and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- I think that is just gorgeous!
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] are wonderful independently and together! [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] doesn’t have as much gravity as traditional [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Stick with your grandmothers name! Congrats & good luck to you!
I love the sound of [name_m]Roman[/name_m] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle spot is sort of pretty, but as a first name it sparkles. Its simple and feminine but yet has a very strong feel to it, maybe because it’s one syllable. I love it. I would definitely go with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] over [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] too.
Like erin91 said, if it was [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] that would be too similar buy [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] isn’t bad at all! And [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a nn would wok great to avoid being to similar too, going with rosalie, [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Roseanne[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], and so on. But simple [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would match nicely just as well.
