I’m due with my second girl in a few weeks and we’re seriously considering [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. We are undecided on using a full version of [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], but regardless would be using the nickname [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] the majority of the time. [name_f]My[/name_f] older daughter is [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] (we use the Co-[name_f]RIN[/name_f] pronunciation). [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] work as a sibset? I sort of think they sound similar ending in an “N” sound, but my husband thinks it’s fine and they sound totally different. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] sounds very similar to me because of how they end. I’m not to sure about using the name [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] if you have a daughter named [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]. Maybe use the name [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
[name_m]Even[/name_m] with the n sound, they are different. Gweneviere / [name_f]Gwenevieve[/name_f] are my favorite long versions.
I don’t think they sound too similar. I like [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] together.
I love [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] together. I don’t have problem with the way [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] sound together, I think they go well.
I think it’s dreamy–go for it!
I don’t think [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] & [name_f]Corrine[/name_f] are too similar, even though they both end in a strong “n”. I do think [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Corrine[/name_f] are a little more singsongy though. Though that is my favorite longer variation. There is also Gwenllian, [name_f]Gweneta[/name_f], [name_f]Gweness[/name_f], [name_f]Gwenette[/name_f]/etta. [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is also great on it’s own (which is honestly what I would do in your shoes).
I think [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] are fine as sisters. (:
I think [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] would be less matchy in sound than [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]. I pronounce [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] the same way you do and I think it’s a gorgeous name. [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] share an “n” ending but I think they’re different enough not to be too confusing in the same household. Does [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] ever get called [name_u]Corrie[/name_u] or [name_f]Rin[/name_f]?
Thanks everyone for your help! I feel like I’ve been driving myself crazy with names the last couple months so the outside perspective is really helpful. I think we’ll go for it with [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. Thanks again!
