Expecting #4 soon and after months and months of looking at names my DH and I fianlly found one we agree on…but I am not 100% sure its our name. Our other three girls all have a Y’s in their first names and we all have unisex middle names which we did not plan it just worked out that way…the name we like has neither. I was so set on finding a name to fit these “rules” I was not looking into other names but now that my DH brought it up I really am liking it, it was his grandmothers name. I don’t want our new baby girl to ever feel left out…
[name]Madelyn[/name] [name]Jo[/name]
[name]Alayna[/name] [name]Grey[/name]
[name]Clayre[/name] [name]Rylee[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] ??? Does it work…will she feel left out?
The trend in your names are quite obvious, especially after [name]Clayre[/name] [name]Rylee[/name] has not one but TWO 'y’s. The unisex middles are less of the issue here I think.
Are there any other names that might be on the drawing board?
Not a single name that we both like…I have a list of names with Y in them but my DH has vetoed them all…and has yet to come up with more than 2 names that he likes. He also thinks I am crazy to try to follow any “rules” to make sure their names go together Thus the reason I am torn on this name…I love it but having a tough time with it not following my “rules”.
Well spotted! Sounds like emilliaj has taken care of [name]Pearl[/name] feeling left out! [name]How[/name] about keeping [name]Pearl[/name] and finding a unisex mn if the rule breaking is really not sitting well with you?
My niece is [name]Sybella[/name] (meaning oracle, prophetess). Although we [name]LOVE[/name] ourselves some [name]Sophia[/name] (Greek for wisdom), we already knew 3 little girls (friends’ kids) with the name [name]Sophie[/name]. So, we had to search on for a comparable alternative and we found it in [name]Sybella[/name].
Would you consider [name]Sybella[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?
I’m usually not particular about matching names but your Y trend is so strong… I kept opening and closing your thread to see what the first things would pop out to me were… and all I could see were the Ys. If this happens for you too… I would say find a way to match… if it doesn’t however, like the other posters, then go with [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Sophia[/name].
Oooh, how great you liked [name]Pearl[/name] and what a coincidence it is actually a family name!
[name]Sophia[/name] is lovely and [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] sounds great too. (i still like [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Elyse[/name] too though!)
Good luck deciding!
Oh, this is tough! [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is lovely, but it does stand out a lot from the pack…the y is the really obvious pattern to me, breaking the unisex middles no big deal.
No way to really get a y in [name]Pearl[/name] without changing the name…
[name]Sophy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?
[name]Sonya[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?
