Hey so still trying to find a girls name to go with [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and pomeline. My husband has suggested his first name ( for all three children!) sibylla! I’m tempted to use it just because he’s never said anything before ever so he must love it surely!
What do you think?
Does it sound ok with pomeline elisabeth? I was leaning toward a [name_m]French[/name_m] name.
Also spelling wise would you use sibylla or sybilla?
I think [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] works well with [name_m]Casper[/name_m] & [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]. It has the same magical, woodsy feel the other two have. [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] definitely looks more streamlined, though, if that’s something you’re going for. I’d stick with [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] myself.
Not a fan of [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], there’s so much going on that I feel overwhelmed. The names swamp each other. Though the styles work well together and they’re both lovely in their own right.
I’d suggest something fairly simple / pure, elegant, and calm with [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about -
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
I’ve tried to think of some less traditional choices to mix it up a bit, but I really struggled to find many less traditional names that felt good next to [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]. In this respect, I think the spelling [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] would be easier to work with.
I love [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]. It’s so mysterious and wise-sounding, and goes perfectly with [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]! Swoon.
I personally prefer the [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] spelling because it looks…hmm, neater? Cuter? And it makes the nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] more intuitive. Also a huge fan of similar name [name_f]Sybella[/name_f].
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is nice, though personally I’d be tempted to use a middle with a different number of syllables just for variety. Maybe something [name_m]French[/name_m], to go with [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]. Something like [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] would be gorgeous.
Hmm that is pretty but I had to look up the pronunciation–I would have guessed [name_f]SIB[/name_f]-uh-la, which I don’t love. NB says it is si-[name_f]BEE[/name_f]-la which is way prettier, but guessing you will have to explain it a lot. [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] and [name_m]Casper[/name_m] are unusual, but the pronunciation is easy to figure out. [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] works, and I like [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] from pp.
I think [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] would be wonderful.
Beautiful!
[name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] seems like an easier spelling. Though I like the name well enough. It’s pretty and fashionable in a vintage way. I think it sounds especially good with your other childrens’ names. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] as a middle deepens the retro feel. Nice choice!
THAnks! My late grandmother was [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] in the middle and pomelines middle is my other grandmother so did want to use [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] but think we’re set on [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f]/sibylla now - my husband is pretty sure once he’s sure!!
[name_m]Will[/name_m] think about middles but [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] might work, thanks!
I think [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] would be a great fit. I’m not crazy about [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] but it’s a fine name.
Spelling-wise, I prefer [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] to [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] (but [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] to [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]).
I prefer the spelling [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name.
I prefer the [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f] spelling! It looks more familiar, perhaps because of similarity to more recognizable names [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f].
I also love the name [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]! [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] is an awesome sibset, I adore it
I agree with pp, [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] flows better.
