I’m having the same issue right now. I like a certain sound when it comes to names and I keep inadvertently choosing names that are too similar. With your case, I only think names with the same sound(s) are too similar. I chose [name]Layla[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] because they both start with L and have repeating L sounds. Almost the same thing with [name]Larry[/name] and [name]Lily[/name], and I also chose [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Maddy[/name] because they both have 2 syllables ending in -y.

The only real issue I see with all your names is if you plan on having more than 2 children. If you had a [name]Layla[/name] and a [name]Lily[/name] and then had a 3rd daughter, would her name also start with an L and have repeating sounds?

Of course, it all depends on personal taste. Some people are more sensitive to sound than others and some can hear the same names in a different way. For me, there are only three combos that are passable for siblings (not ideal but passable).

[name]Jack[/name] & [name]Katie[/name] - probably the best sibset - one is a short “a” and the other is a long “a”
[name]Justin[/name] & [name]Julia[/name] - they both begin the same but the “Ju” is pronounced differently for both names. 2nd best combo.
[name]Riley[/name] & [name]Maddy[/name] - they have the same sound at the end but the first syllable is different.

Honorable mention:

[name]Layla[/name] & [name]Lily[/name] - both are heavy on the l’s but they do sound different. Personally, I still think they’re too similar for siblings.

I’ll give you an example of a sibset that is way too matchy in my opinion… [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name]'s kids [name]Harlow[/name] and [name]Sparrow[/name]. [name]Way[/name] too similar. What if they have a 3rd child? Barrow? [name]Arrow[/name]?

A lot of them are okay, but [name]Caitlin[/name] and [name]Kieran[/name], [name]Layla[/name] and [name]Lily[/name], [name]Kylie[/name] and [name]Kelly[/name], [name]Larry[/name] and [name]Lily[/name], and [name]Jeremy[/name] and [name]Emily[/name] all got my votes. I don’t think [name]Jeremy[/name] and [name]Emily[/name] are too bad, but I think it’d be a bit tongue-twistery. [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Justin[/name] are okay, but I think they’re a bit mismatched. [name]Julia[/name]'s timeless to me, whereas [name]Justin[/name] is really dated to the 70s/80s.
