Single syllable first and last?

I love the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but I’m not sure how it would sound with a last name like [name_m]Young[/name_m]. Would you go with [name_u]Jude[/name_u] or a longer first name? We also like:

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]

Thanks

I think it’s fine, long as they don’t share any sounds, which [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Young[/name_m] don’t. I think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds great.
Some middle ideas:
[name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] (saw this combo’d with [name_u]Jude[/name_u] on a board about it earlier, I think mischa suggested it)
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Cordovan[/name_m] (this is an interesting choice from a color-name blog)

If you’d rather a longer first name, what about [name_m]Judah[/name_m] or [name_m]Judas[/name_m]? [name_u]Jude[/name_u] could still be a nickname. :stuck_out_tongue:

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] with a one-syllable last name sounds fantastic! I’ve always loved the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Law[/name_m] (the actor). There are quite a few celebrities with one-one beat names: they’re memorable, spunky and fun! For example; [name_m]Brad[/name_m] [name_m]Pitt[/name_m], [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_f]Cruise[/name_f], [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Tom[/name_m] Hanks, etc.
I’ve always loved the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I think it works absolutely fine with a short last name, but I’d probably go for a longer middle name (just my preference). [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is on my list, paired with:
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
Best of luck!

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] is fine with [name_m]Young[/name_m]. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] would by my choice.

I agree with the others, [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds perfectly fine. I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m] from your other likes. So very handsome.

I think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds totally fine. Sometimes one syllable fn/ln combos are very abrupt, but sometimes they aren’t. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] definitely fits in the latter category.

It depends on the sounds of the first name and surname. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds awesome because the two names sound different. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Rudd[/name_m] would be pretty bad. I would use a longer mn for [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m] would be wonderful.

I think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds great. I like the past suggestion of [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m].

It could sound worse, but, I think at least a two syllable name would sound the nicest.

Of the other names you listed, [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] sounds best.

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Young[/name_m] sounds fine, but I would find a longer middle name.
