Sister for Alma part 2

So we put ourselves a deadline to find a name by the end of this week. Here is the final top 5 in no specific order:

  • [name_f]Olimpia[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] ( my bf doesn’t like it but I can be very convincing hehe)
  • [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs ( both love it) but do you guys think it is way too similar in sound to her sister’s name?
  • [name_f]Lena[/name_f] ( becoming way too popular)
  • [name_f]Leni[/name_f] ( doesn’t really have a meaning on sounds a bit like [name_m]Lenin[/name_m] …)

Any thoughts, additions or suggestions?
We like the name to sound international (live in [name_f]Italy[/name_f]) and not overused …

Your help is much appreciated!
Thanks!

I think [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] works best with [name_f]Alma[/name_f].
Have you considered [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], I think it’s lovely and perfect with [name_f]Alma[/name_f].

Thanks, [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] is my favorite too…
I like [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] but it is really old fashioned over here but in a not so cool way.
Btw: love your kids names!

no other opinions? anyone? please

I love [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] with [name_f]Alma[/name_f] too. Work your magic! Or better yet, go with the name you both love. I don’t think [name_f]Anais[/name_f] sounds similar to [name_f]Alma[/name_f] at all.

[name_f]Olimpia[/name_f] would be my other pick. Good luck!

thanks a lot for the input!

What about [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]? I knew someone by this name and always liked it.

Hm it’s not that I dislike it but it s a bit too eastern European for me. Plus in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] they would just call her [name_f]Ele[/name_f]. That way there wouldn’t be any distinction with the overly popular [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f]. In [name_f]Italy[/name_f] they abbreviate everything!
Thanks for the input though !

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Alma[/name_f], but most of your options do little for me. [name_f]Leni[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] are all a little dull.
[name_f]Olimpia[/name_f] I slightly prefer as Olympea, but it’s a little unwieldy, and feels too much of a mouthful next to [name_f]Alma[/name_f]. [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs is one I adore, but I would personally hesitate to use same initials without another sibling as a buffer between them.

My first thought with [name_f]Alma[/name_f] is [name_f]Liv[/name_f]. She has the same simplicity with added depth because of her meaning. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] are perfect together ^^

Other suggestions I like with [name_f]Alma[/name_f] (sorry if any are ridiculous in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] :P):
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] / [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] / [name_f]Fiora[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen/name_f
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] / [name_f]Junia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] / [name_f]Maria[/name_f] / [name_f]Mari[/name_f] / [name_f]Mariel[/name_f] / [name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f] / [name_f]Sancia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mina[/name_f] / [name_f]Minna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] / [name_f]Sibel[/name_f]
[name_f]Una[/name_f]
[name_f]Viera[/name_f] / [name_f]Vera[/name_f] / [name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] / [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] / [name_f]Clea[/name_f]
[name_f]Oriane[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f]
[name_f]Nona[/name_f] / [name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Noa[/name_f] / [name_f]Nia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_f]Joya[/name_f] / [name_f]Gioia[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] / [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sonya[/name_f] / [name_f]Sonia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] / [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]

thanks for taking the time to reply!
Hmm i never really liked [name_f]Liv[/name_f]. I know it’s kind of popular in Scandinavia right now but i don’t like the way it sounds. plus in Italian it would be unpronounceable

I also don’t like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Leni[/name_f] 100% because they lack meaning. [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] I like because it is a flower name but also means ‘gentle’ in other languages. [name_f]Olimpia[/name_f] is a normal name over here but not overused. Abroad i think maybe it is seen as ‘overdoing’ it a bit…

You came up with some really nice suggestions. I will look them through with attention!
thanks again!
