What would you call a sister to Alya (ahh-lee-uhh)? I fell in love with the name a few months ago but I can’t think of what her siblings could be called. Could she have a brother called Hunter? as that is my favourite name for boys with special meaning as well. How about Novalie?

I just wanted to say I read [name_f]Alya[/name_f] as “all-yuh”, and I think a lot of other people would too. The spellings [name_f]Aliya[/name_f], [name_f]Aliyah[/name_f], [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f], and [name_f]Aleah[/name_f] are all much better known and would make more sense for that pronunciation in my opinion! I’m not a fan of [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], it’s very violent
If it was spelled [name_f]Aleah[/name_f] or [name_f]Alia[/name_f], i think [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Novalie[/name_f] could work.

I think that both [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_f]Novalie[/name_f] would go great with an [name_f]Alya[/name_f]! I really like [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], it was the name of the first boy I ever really liked so I’m a bit biased to it!
I think [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] or [name_f]Novalie[/name_f] would work with [name_f]Alya[/name_f], but possibly not both, unless it does not matter that they are quite stylistically different.
I agree with other posters that I would read [name_f]Alya[/name_f] as “ahl-yuh.” If I were going for “ah-lee-uh” I would spell it [name_f]Aleah[/name_f], [name_f]Alia[/name_f], [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f], or [name_f]Aliya[/name_f].
