Sister for Beau and Cora

[name]Hi[/name] guys, we are having the hardest time coming up with a girls name. She has an older brother named [name]Beau[/name] and sister named [name]Cora[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Sylvie[/name], but DH does not like it and I can’t seem to convince him!! I was hoping you guys could help me come up with some more ideas.

I think of [name]Beau[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] both as a bit Southern (I know [name]Cora[/name]'s Irish, but there’s something Southern about it to me.) I think of them as earnest names, with clear, open sounds.
[name]Olla[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Ameline[/name] or [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name], or [name]Valentine[/name] as a middle

[name]Beau[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are great together! And [name]Sylvie[/name] would be a great fit too but there are plenty of other options!

Are you explicitly avoiding matching endings to [name]Cora[/name]? I can understand that but I don’t think you have to. And do you specifically want a 1 or 2 syllable name like [name]Beau[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] or are you open to longer names? I think longer names could work.

Here are some of the first nice ones that come to mind:

[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Adele[/name] (French like [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Amelie[/name] (some overlap with [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Audrey[/name] (notes of [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Cecily[/name] (some overlap between [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name], and I think you can use two C’s esp. w/ two different sounds)
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Elodie[/name] (notes of [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Eve[/name] ([name]Eve[/name] is faintly reminiscent of [name]Sylvie[/name], and more so with nn [name]Evie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name] (this one has a lot of sound overlap with [name]Sylvie[/name]!)
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] (nn [name]Janie[/name] is cute and captures a smidge of [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Lucille[/name] (French like [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Marie[/name] (notes of [name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Olive[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Rose[/name] ([name]Rosie[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Selene[/name] (some overlap)
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Sophie[/name] (definitely evokes)
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Willa[/name]
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Zoe[/name] (some overlap)

[name]Beau[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are a great sibset, I really like your naming style!
I love the suggestion of [name]Ruby[/name], that was my first thought when I saw the title of your thread. Also [name]Vera[/name] seems to fit.
I wonder if you’d like [name]Sela[/name], [name]Opal[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Ellery[/name], [name]Diana[/name], or [name]Claire[/name]? Good luck! =]

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep them coming!

I’m not necessarily ruling out a endings (like in [name]Cora[/name]) but don’t want something that rhymes completely so no [name]Dora[/name], [name]Nora[/name], etc.
I originally wanted to stick with short and sweet, but i’m getting desperate, so anything that “goes” with the other 2 is fair game!

[name]Just[/name] wanted to point out that with [name]Olive[/name], you could do nn [name]Livy[/name], which might feel a little like [name]Sylvie[/name].
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Liv[/name] is pretty awesome too if you’re down for it.
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Olivia[/name] is also lovely though you might find [name]Olivia[/name] too popular.
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name] is also nice with nn [name]Vivi[/name] a little close to [name]Sylvie[/name].

Also thought of [name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Isabel[/name] ([name]Izzy[/name])
[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Sybil[/name] ([name]Sybil[/name] looks like [name]Sylvie[/name], although the feel is different)

Can you give us a hint? Any of the suggestions coming close to something you’d like? [name]Beau[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are both so versatile- there are a lot of directions you could take the third name.

I wish I knew what I like! I’m having a hard time coming up with any sort of list at all. A few others that hubby has outlawed are [name]Posy[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], and [name]Elsie[/name]. Some others I like but can’t use for various reasons are [name]Molly[/name], [name]Eden[/name], and [name]Sadie[/name]. My dad has nicknamed her [name]Mabel[/name] for the time being and that has kind of been growing one me.

I think I like [name]Sylvie[/name] so much that I’m comparing all other names to that and ruling out everything too quickly.
DH likes [name]Ivy[/name] (it’s ok, I just have a really hard time picturing a baby/little girl). He also likes [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Bria[/name]. I don’t know I feel like we are all over the place and can’t agree on anything!

Oh man. Well, you could nickname her [name]Sylvie[/name] by calling her something like [name]Silver[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] or [name]Serena[/name] [name]Liv[/name] or [name]Siobhan[/name] [name]Lee[/name] or [name]Stella[/name] [name]Vivian[/name]…
I think [name]Ivy[/name] is lovely with [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Beau[/name]. Old fashioned yet fresh. [name]Lucy[/name] is sweet and simple, and has the warmth of [name]Sylvie[/name]. [name]Bria[/name] is not my style, because it just makes me think of cheese. [name]Mabel[/name] is also nms, though I know many here love it. Too Grandma for me.
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Susannah[/name] nn [name]Zuzu[/name]
[name]Maude[/name]… or [name]Maeve[/name]
Dulsia/ [name]Dulcie[/name]

Edit: Just saw Lucy and Ivy were already on your list. I think they do share a lot with Sylvie! Other very similar names:

Solvey (too close? Norwegian name meaning ‘strength of the sun’)

Oh, I’d adore to see a sibset of [name]Beau[/name], [name]Cora[/name] & [name]Sylvie[/name]… that would just be perfect!
