Pregnant with my 3rd (a girl!) and struggling to decide on the name. Our first is named Charlotte, and our second is George. Both are named after my grandparents, but we don’t love any of the remaining family names, so thinking to use a family name (Catherine or Della) as a middle.
We are considering Eloise (love Elle and Ellie as nicknames), but looking for other ideas as well. I love Margaux, unfortunately my husband does not. And, we’d prefer to pick a name that does not start with A,M, C, or G, so everyone can have their own initial.
Would love any ideas you have, as well as thoughts on Eloise with these two! Looking for classic, ideally not overly popular (though Charlotte was #4 the year she was born and we have no close friends with kids named at Charlotte, and there are 5 little George’s (not in the 100!!) in our neighborhood. So I guess I don’t really care about popularity
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is sleek and pretty and I like it! [name_f]My[/name_f] only pause is that [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] look very similar to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (as in the kids of [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and Kate) - this may not be an issue for you at all though!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is lovely…although slightly close to [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (of Wales)
Other suggestions…
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is a great fit, especially with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] as a middle name! I also thought of the [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] connection mentioned above, but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker outside of the UK.
I would skip [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and probably also Eloise… otherwise you’re naming all three kids after [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Princess[/name_f] Kate’s children.
That is actually our main concern with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] we already have gotten a few comments about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] and it bothers me (I’m American, didn’t think people here cared as much about the royal family!). So I don’t want to make things worse with this name. But it’s such a shame bc I do love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
I love the name Eloise - though I prefer anything but Ellie for a nn - Elle as you say but also Elo, Lois, Lola, Essie etc) - and think it would match really nicely - probably Eloise Catherine over Eloise Della. Don’t let the royal family thing stop you - your children will rarely list their siblings’ names in their day to day life right through to old age. Would only hesitate if going to bug you personally.
Otherwise, Charlotte, George &
Adelaide (nod to Della - could use Della, Daisy, Adele or Lady as nn’s)
Delphine (also a nod to Della)
Catherine nn Kit or Kitty (Kit/Kitty freshens it up) - I know this is a C letter - but not the same sound as Ch for Charlotte and you could change to Katherine.
Absolutely love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] with [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are my top girl names so of course I think they go lovely together!
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is a little less classic and traditional than the others (though honestly I’m only getting that vibe because the other two are [name_f]Royal[/name_f] names). [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] would be darling!
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I’d use the spelling [name_f]Heloise[/name_f], which lessens the comparison to the RF and gives a smart literary connection.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Elinor[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are sweet , but if people are already making the comparison to the [name_f]Windsor[/name_f] family I would avoid [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and stick to another amazing [name_f]Elle[/name_f] name !
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] ( my third favourite for you)
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] / [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] ( my favourite for you)
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] ( my second favourite)
[name_m]Or[/name_m] something completely different
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f] ( Ellie)
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]

[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Karoline[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] ( Ellie)
[name_f]Odelia[/name_f] ( I think you can get [name_m]Dell[/name_m] and Elle)
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Pheobe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachelle[/name_f] ( Elle)
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] ( Ella)
[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivica[/name_f]
I love classic names. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are both so classic…. I would embrace that fact and pick a name in the same vein. I’m thinking….
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (Cate, Kate)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ( [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], Libby)
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] (Elle, Lise)
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (Meg)
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] (does husband like name with this spelling any better??)
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (Nell)
[name_f]Susanne[/name_f] / [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (Molly)
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (Nora)
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (Annie)
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] (Annie)
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] (Joey, Annie)
@camama13 [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is so lovely I wonder if you could mention it to a few people (maybe those who’ve made the royal family comments) just to see if they pick up on it? I don’t know if I’m just over thinking because I’m looking at it from a critical/nameberry perspective?
I do have to admit the first thing I noticed (not that it would prevent me from using them though) when I saw the first 2 names without even reading the post and 3rd name you like was the [name_f]British[/name_f] royals (but that could also be because I’m from the UK) and the 3rd name could make the connection even stronger. However, I do love the name [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and I can’t find a name I love as much for this sib-set even though I like some of the options I’ll suggest below. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is too pretty to let go of in my opinion and if you really love it just go for it and don’t really get bothered by other people’s opinions.
If it really bothers you though here are some other suggestions (ignore the ones with letter repetition if that matters to you but I thought I’d still throw some in since I have too many C and E names I like):
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are such lovely names!!
I think [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] goes wonderfully with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m]! It’s a pity your husband doesn’t like [name_f]Margaux[/name_f], it’s such a lovely name and fits beautifully!
