I have some front runners but am really looking for fresh ideas to consider as well. DD2 is due soon. What would you pair with sister [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]? Thanks!
I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! I think I would go with another traditional/classic name. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is beautiful, feminine and classic. I’d stick to another classic name.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (my favorite!)
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] ([name_f]Kate[/name_f])
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f])
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_f]Addy[/name_f])
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (Liddy)
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps!
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]/[name_f]Sara[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is very pretty!
Suggestions:
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
Thanks so much for the suggestions so far! I love [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but my husband has vetoed them. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are two names I’m warming up to but not in love with yet. It helps to hear them suggested with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] though. Two friends recently named their babies [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. All the good names are being taken! [name_f]Jane[/name_f] we see a lot but [name_f]Kate[/name_f] not very much, so [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] is still on my list. I just don’t like the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f] and grew up with so many of them. I think that’s what holding me back. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a front runner for me. Some days I love it, but some days it’s doesn’t seem like enough. Great advice so far though! It’s helpful to hear some new ideas and to have old ideas confirmed.
Have you thought about using [name_u]Kit[/name_u] for a nickname for [name_f]Claire[/name_f]? I also have a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ([name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]) and we are considering using [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u] if the next one is a girl. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is the name of one of the American Girl Dolls, so your daughter might enjoy that when she’s older.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are both great too! My DH vetoed [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] as well, what a shame!
Oops meant [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]!
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
Are some of the first that come to mind. A lot of names work well with [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!
I have a daughter Clare and we named her younger sister Katharine with the idea of calling her Kate but mostly we call her Kat or by her full name. I’ll say that the recommendations so far have been great and a lot of these we’ve considered ourselves. I particularly like Lucy and Grace with Claire. Since your daughter’s middle name is Elise I wouldn’t go with Eliza.
EDA: And even though my daughter is really never Kit (occasionally Kitty and Kit Kat) she still wanted us to get her the American Girl doll Kit for Christmas and grandma (who happens to be her namesake) obliged.

[name_f]Sister[/name_f] suggestions:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Anya[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Mara[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Elena[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’ (eh [name_m]LAY[/name_m] nuh)
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Amity[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’
Some good suggestions so far. I love [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but if you don’t like [name_f]Katie[/name_f], how about calling her [name_f]Kat[/name_f] instead? Or you could name her [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Rina[/name_f]?
Here are a few other options:
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Abby[/name_u] (full name [name_f]Abigail[/name_f])
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], whichever you prefer)
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
I didn’t realize the whole [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] thing until you pointed it out. Thanks! [name_f]Kat[/name_f] is cute. I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] too. I’m a bit concerned about [name_f]Grace[/name_f]'s popularity though. It’s everywhere here!
Great suggestions! [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is actually a top contender, but I’m worried about how it would grow up with her… I know so many Lillians but I like the name a lot. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is one I’ve considered, but it sounds goofy with my last name. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is also a great one. I’ve thought about that as a middle name at least! [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is gorgeous. The husband just vetoed it of course. Ugh! I like the way your first name /middle name pairs flow a lot! Thanks!
I like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_u]Abby[/name_u] a lot. But I’m trying to stay out of the top ten unfortunately. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is one I hadn’t thought of before. Thanks!
Thanks! [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is gorgeous. Is [name_f]Addy[/name_f] really popular everywhere though? I feel like it is…
[name_f]Addy[/name_f]'s really popular. Blame [name_u]Addison[/name_u] for that.
I really adore classic names. I’ve recently made a list of some that go with [name_f]Claire[/name_f], actually, as I had [name_u]Clare[/name_u] on our list.
I had [name_u]Clare[/name_u] with a list of first names including: [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]. Wanted fairly traditional, but smooth and sassy. Most of those aren’t in the Top Hundred - including [name_f]Jane[/name_f], actually, which always surprises people. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] really remind me of each other - tailored and short, but classic and don’t really date to a decade. (Can you tell I love both?) [name_f]Rose[/name_f] works well the same way, it just wasn’t on my list because I can’t use it.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] works well if you fear the 1-syllable thing becoming a theme, or if there’s a 1-syllable name you really want to use in the middle. Its 3 letters pack a lot of punch. Much more so than [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f], as well as being less popular.
For middles:
I love the way [name_f]Elise[/name_f] has emphasis on the second syllable. Other names like that, which I like, are: [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Tamar[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Sabine[/name_f], [name_f]Renee[/name_f], [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
If you go with a longer first name I would do a short middle: [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_f]Faith[/name_f].
I’ve always thought [name_f]Claire[/name_f] goes nicely with:
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]?
