We are about 2 weeks out from daughter #2’s arrival and can’t decide on a name. Which do you prefer (sister is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f])? Both first and middle names are family names. Or any other suggestions?
Since [name_f]Clara[/name_f] probably doesn’t go my a nickname, I might lean toward [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], which also doesn’t lend itself to a nickname. But obviously I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! You can’t go wrong with either - good luck deciding!
I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] is a bit on the short side. Maybe lengthen one or both of the names.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Luciana[/name_f].
[name_u]Kay[/name_u] - [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_f]Kadence[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] also works
Both are very nice, but I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a smashing sister set. I think both names are sweet and spunky at the same time. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lovely too, but a little more buttoned-up to my ear.
Both [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are absolute favourites of mine and both are wonderful with [name_f]Clara[/name_f], so I see your problem. With [name_f]Clara[/name_f] I slightly go towards [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], however tomorrow I might change my mind.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a name that could be an imaginative smoosh of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] so you can’t go wrong! They both match wonderfully well.
As for which I prefer, I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but dislike [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I like [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lu[/name_f] (and other [name_f]Lu[/name_f] nn’s) but don’t love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (I do appreciate why others do though - I prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with soft c or possibly even [name_f]Lucette[/name_f]).
Other possibilities (excuse repeats) with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]:
I would use [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] with no nn. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is too popular with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. Otherwise, I vote [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
