I just found out that I am pregnant with baby #2. It is quite unexpected, so while I try to wrap my head around it, I’d love help with a name for Clementine’s sister.
Our boy name has been set in stone for years (Harrison). This baby will be our last either way, but figured it’d be helpful to note.
Clementine’s name was almost Daphne. I’ve loved that name for over twenty years, but don’t want to settle on it too quickly. I’m not a “wait and see” type of gal, either. So while I don’t want to rush into the name, having one in mind always helps me feel better. It was helpful knowing from the very start with my last pregnancy, that baby was definitely either Harrison or Clementine.
Something else to note is that we get a lot of positive comments on our daughter’s name. People seemed genuinely delighted/tickled to be meeting a Clementine. I would sort of love to inspire the same sort of response in people with our next girl, but it’s not a mandatory requirement.
Names we like: Daphne, Gwendolyn, Beatrice, and Marlowe
Any names on our list you think work well with Clementine? Any suggestions? Top contender is currently Daphne.
Middle name will be James (I know, I know it’s trendy for girls right now) in honor of my dad who passed away. Baby will have a hyphenated name.
And for reference, baby boy will be Harrison James.

******* For anyone curious, we found out that we are expecting our second little girl! We had a list of ten names (some with suggestions made here like Astrid, Freya, and Susannah) that we walked around with for a week. We always came back to Daphne. In my bones, I know that this is our Daphne James, so that is what we are going with! Thank you for everyone who commented with such epic suggestions!
I love [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] too, but [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] has a different vibe to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and your other choices, if that bothers you.
For her sister, I’d go for something like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Margaux[/name_f], [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], [name_u]Florence[/name_u], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] or [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], but you’ve got some lovely names listed too. I’m not personally a huge fan of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] but it goes well with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], as do [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite from your list is [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] but with the uber feminine [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and the masculine middle name [name_u]James[/name_u] I’d probably avoid using it.
