I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Colette[/name_f] for my daughter #2. However with a [name_f]Cora[/name_f] already in the family, is it too much to have another “Co” starting name?
I personally think it is a little bit too much- two siblings sharing initials is fine, in my books, but two or more of the same opening letters is too matchy and makes it feel a bit like neither sibling has their own name, if you know what I mean. Plus, they are both two syllables, which makes it feel even more matchy. It’s a shame, because [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is a lovely choice.
If you need suggestions (ignore this if you don’t) then maybe you might like:
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Minette[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], [name_f]Ninette[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Antonia[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Letitia[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f].
cora and [name_f]Colette[/name_f] are definitely too matchy. I would look at other franch names, I’m sure you can find something else you like!
I love [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. I actually don’t think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f] sound terrible together. Sure they match a little and start off the same, but they do have distinctly different sounds. They match a little too much for my taste, but it’s not terrible. I would say if you love it use it. If the matchiness really bothers you than move [name_f]Colette[/name_f] to the middle.
I think they’re fine together! They don’t really sound much alike. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Colette[/name_f] would make sweet sisters. I love both names. Maybe you’d like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]? I’ve always dreamed of sisters [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is even on my list.
Thank you all so much for your feedback. We will figure it out and it will be perfect.
