Help! Having a tough time deciding on another girl’s name. Our daughter is Elsie. Here are some names we like right now with Hallie or Halle being the favorite, but nothing seems perfect. Ideally we’d like something uncommon but not unheard of. Any thoughts on these or other name ideas?
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is adorable, and I love [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] for a sister name (prefer this spelling)! [name_f]My[/name_f] other favorite from your list (especially taking into account Elsie’s name) is [name_f]April[/name_f] I also really like [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]! Other suggestions…
Hallie/Halle-I always like this name in theory, but neither spelling looks right. The sound is quite pretty, & I think that it goes really well w/Elsie. I guess [name_u]Halle[/name_u] feels sleeker?
Talia-Ooh, I like it. Smart but sweet. Feminine but not overly frilly. Fairly simple yet not over done. All of the good stuff!
Layla-Meh, not my favorite. It’s just really over done & sort of trendy feeling.
Claire-A nice enough classic, but not terribly exciting. I like the vintage flair of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] a bit better.
April-I can’t get into this one. Maybe it feels sort of dated.
Bailey-Too trendy & unisex for my tastes.
Shayna-Shay-I don’t care for the look or sound of [name_f]Shayna[/name_f] at all. [name_u]Shay[/name_u] feels pleasant enough. I prefer it on a boy, but I don’t mind just [name_u]Shay[/name_u] for a girl.
Naomi-Noe-This feels like a good pair w/Elsie. It’s not my favorite personally, but I can’t pinpoint why.
Amazing! Thank you for taking the time. Totally agree with you that [name_f]Layla[/name_f] is trending, [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful but a bit boring, and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is too popular. Helps me narrow it down. Thank you!
I love your daughters name ! And I think you have some pretty amazing options for a sister!
Personally I love the classic [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] with big sisters name !
You have a lot of “ay/ eh” and “al” names so I want to suggest
[name_u]Allie[/name_u] / [name_f]Ally[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
i really like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] with Elsie!!
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and:
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! What about [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] for a sister? All easy to spell, classics like [name_f]Elise[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] (I prefer this spelling) are really cute together. The other names on your list are nice as well. I especiallt like [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. Maybe you would like one of these names: [name_u]Anne[/name_u], [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Bria[/name_f], [name_f]Judith[/name_f], [name_u]Julie[/name_u], [name_u]Kenna[/name_u], [name_f]Lina[/name_f], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_u]Noa[/name_u], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].
my favorite is a tie: elsie + hallie and elsie + april. I think short, feminine-but-not-frilly names work the best. my favorite suggestions so far are:
