With just 6 weeks left until baby, we have narrow d down our list to either [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (-LINE pronunciation) [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. We are set on [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] being the middle name, but I’d love to hear some suggestions on the first name!! I prefer feminine, long names.
Our firstborn is [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] [name_u]Greer[/name_u] nn “Emmie.”
I like [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! I think you’ll have some people pronouncing it mad-uh-line and some people pronouncing it mad-uh-lyn so you’ll always have to be correcting others.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are both lovely! While I think I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] on its own, I think that [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] [name_u]Greer[/name_u], as “Emelia and Madeline” sounds a bit clunky with the multiple m and l sounds. emmie and abbie would sound really cute together if you liked that as a nickname for abigail!
I love [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] as a sister for [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] [name_u]Greer[/name_u]! Other suggestions in the vein of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] and Abigail…
I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], however I like the [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] spelling even better. For some reason I feel it is more intuitive to pronounce this spelling with the LINE ending.
That being said, you have to ask yourself if you are planning to use a nickname and what would it most likely be? That is very important. Which of the nicknames do you like the best? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you want to use [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] as a nickname? [name_u]Or[/name_u] do you plan on calling your girls [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]? Maybe [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]?
