My favourite with [name]Esmae[/name] is Aven. I like the fact they’re both two syllables but not too matchy. I personally wouldn’t worry about it being too close to [name]Ava[/name]. They really don’t even sound that similar to me.
[name]Bellamy[/name] is pretty, but with [name]Esmae[/name] it’s a bit rhymey for me.
I really can’t stand [name]Wylie[/name], to be honest.
All three of them feel really different stylistically to [name]Esme[/name] so it’s hard to pick. As far as surnames go [name]Bellamy[/name] and [name]Wylie[/name] seem far too butch for a little girl (there’s a footballer here named [name]Craig[/name] [name]Bellamy[/name]) and I’d spell ‘aven’ as [name]Avon[/name] (it’s a river here, pronounced the same way) otherwise it just looks like you chopped the ‘h’ off the word ‘haven’.
I can’t think of what else to suggest. Anything with ‘bell’ in it is going to sound super Twihard next to [name]Esme[/name] to be honest : /
[name]Wylie[/name] is all boy.
Aven does run a risk of “[name]Haven[/name]? [name]Raven[/name]?” “NO. Aven.” It’s reminiscent of [name]Aidan[/name] ([name]Aden[/name]) for me.
-------Re: Aven vs. [name]Avon[/name], in the US [name]Avon[/name] (“AE-vahn”) is a cosmetic brand that has a kind of dusty old lady image.
[name]Bellamy[/name] would make me assume you were a [name]MUSE[/name] fan. Nothing wrong with that. Also quite masculine.
[name]Esmae[/name] is quite feminine, and all your choices this go-round are quite tomboyish. I would personally worry about naming ‘fairness’ – because while I’m personally against the concept of “sibsets,” I am conscious of making sure that no one sibling has an easy way to feel ‘left out’ or ‘pigeonholed’ as something. If one sister is named something frilly and the other a name that traditionally goes to boys, boy-name sister may feel like she got the short end of the stick.
[name]Bellamy[/name] is beautiful. She will be happy that you picked it for her!
[name]Bellamy[/name] is a surname meaning ‘fair friend.’ I don’t think it reads masculine at all, as most people unfamiliar with the name would read it as [name]Bella[/name] + [name]Amy[/name]. I think it’s definitely the best of your choices, though perhaps not a perfect match with sister [name]Esmae[/name].
I too don’t care for [name]Haven[/name]-with-the-H-chopped-off, nor for the very masculine [name]Wylie[/name].
I vote for [name]Bellamy[/name]. She will be favored among her peers with that name. It is fashionable for a nn too! [name]Bell[/name], [name]Amy[/name], [name]Mimi[/name], [name]Bea[/name], [name]Bella[/name]…
[name]Bellamy[/name] gets my vote! I also love @lorijohnson’s suggestion of [name]Margot[/name] for you.
Aven is the best…if it doesn’t get confused with [name]Avon[/name]. I love [name]Bellamy[/name], but I don’t think it goes well with [name]Esmae[/name]. And [name]Wylie[/name] is just a boy’s name! Have you considered [name]Elsa[/name]? It’s different enough from [name]Esmae[/name] but still sounds really good with it and is just as feminine.
I couldn’t vote just because I have issues with each name. I don’t think any of them go perfectly with [name]Esmae[/name] at all, they all seem quite different.
[name]Wylie[/name] is way too masculine, and I’d always assume that [name]Wylie[/name] is the boy and I can’t imagine growing a little [name]Wylie[/name] would be too happy when her sister got the girly gorgeous name of [name]Esmae[/name].
Aven isn’t my preferred spelling, but I do think [name]Avon[/name] would be nice and it’s probably my favourite of the three.
I do want to like [name]Bellamy[/name] but it’s a last name and automatically see it as quite masculine despite the obvious nicknames which scream female. It could work but I don’t think it fits with [name]Esmae[/name]. It is obviously close to the name [name]Bella[/name] because [name]Bella[/name] is right there within the name and is probably what she would get called so if you are worried about the popularity of [name]Bella[/name] I’d avoid the name and go with [name]Avon[/name]
