Sister for Eve - Shortlist (Help Needed)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Looking for some more feedback.

We are really struggling, still (!), to come up with a girl’s name for a baby due in 2 months. Our first daughter’s name is [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and half of the time we call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. Last name starts with an L and is 2 syllables. We like what we think is the simplicity and elegance but also spunk of [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Classic but also not necessarily expected or common today. We thought it would wear well on all ages and on all types of girls (e.g., bookworm or skate-rat) or women. We’d love another name we feel similarly about, but are coming up empty-handed.

Our short list doesn’t necessarily fit the above bill and we’re just not sold:

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f])
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (nn maybe CiCi or Lo)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Bess[/name_f])
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Nora[/name_f])

We are hesitating on the popularity/trendiness of a few of those. Other options down the list are [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] (but we don’t like long versions) and [name_f]Nola[/name_f]. I thought about [name_u]Simone[/name_u] but when I try it on little girls I see, it just doesn’t seem to work, and I don’t see a nickname. The hard ending sounds nice with our last name, like a few of the names on the shortlist. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (nn CiCi) is another option but I did receive feedback that it’s a mouthful.

Thanks for your thoughts!

What about a name that means life like [name_f]Avita[/name_f] or [name_f]Zoey[/name_f]? [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is cute.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lula[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
[name_u]Kaye[/name_u]

I like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] from your list. I think it can work on its own without a longer form and it works on a bookworm ([name_f]Gwen[/name_f] Ifill) or skate rat ([name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_f]Stefani[/name_f]). I’m also a fan of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or just [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] also work I think.

Other suggestions:
[name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
Lane
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_f]Marin[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]

Would you consider [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] ( nn andi or rhea) or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]?

What about dorothy or wendy ? (I personally like how gwendolyn has both gwen & wendy nn options)

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Hatty[/name_f])
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Immy[/name_f])
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] (This is probably my favourite)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I like the suggestions of [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

I’ll suggest [name_f]Clara[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. As a teacher, I’ve taught a few students by these names and am always impressed with how a little [name_f]Clara[/name_f] can be quirky, silly, or shy and the name still fits!

I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] from your list and I like the suggestion of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

Other ideas (sorry if there are repeats)…
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Laine[/name_u]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Lux[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Maia[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]! [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is such a stunning combination. While reading your post, [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] was my first thought. Your list has beautiful names, but they are a bit more mainstream than [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]

Others:
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]

Broken record here, but I love [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] (just [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], no longer form needed), as well as the suggestions of [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

For what it’s worth, one nickname option for [name_u]Simone[/name_u] is [name_f]Mona[/name_f].

Other ideas not yet mentioned:

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] – less of a mouthful than [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] (nn. [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Estee[/name_f])
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] (nn. [name_f]Nell[/name_f])
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] (nn. [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]JoJo[/name_u], [name_u]Josie[/name_u])

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogene[/name_f]
